I ordered the Chunky Monkey, cost me about $8, and the chocolate w/nuts were as hard as plastic. Only the center was soft and the hardened chocolate was stuck to the rim. Didn't get to enjoy the best part because it was hard as a rock for 1hr and then thrown away. I'm guessing that this custard Sundae was not... More
If I only had one word to describe my turtle sundae it would be "magnificent". Michael's get's it absolutely right, there's almost nothing I would change about their sundae. It could be a bit cheaper and/or the container needs to be a bit bigger container. The pecans user really make the sundae. They are tasty, not too salty, and perfectly... More
Stopped by to pick up a cherry malt for my husband and after looking at the menu I ordered a turtle sundae for myself. BAD! Not the sundae but all the calories that I ate. Some of the best places for frozen custard.
Granted, they are a custard place, but the food is abysmal. I ate their 3 times over about a 6 week period this summer. It's nice to sit outside - you order at a window and they bring the food out. The first time I had a burger with sweet potato fries - fries were hot and tasty; burger was... More
Being from Madison originally I always loved their custard. Having now lived out of state for 8 yrs, we were home and I had custard from other local places. The last day I went to micheals. I remembered why I would go very Tuesday 8 yrs ago. It is amazing. If ever you visit Madison, you Must get their custard.
I used the restroom prior to ordering. There were no paper towels. The very young people in the service area are so unlikely to properly wash their hands without the proper supplies. I left without ordering. That is a basic sanitation requirement in an ice cream shop (the food goes from service to mouth). If you are tempted to indulge... More
This is just good custard. The rest of the menu may be skipped. Stay with the custard. Just be ready to spend more for a cone or single dish than anywhere else in Madison. Once in a while, it is just worth it.
The frozen custard is very creamy and creamy means fatty. Personally, I can only go occasionally due to calories and cost. Less costly alternatives are Dairy Queen and McDonald's, possibly Culver's. Several reviewers have mentioned the cost (check this and other Michael's locations on TripAdvisor in Madison area. ) And with so many choices now at grocery stores for "premium"... More
As always the custard is realy good. The cost is a little on the high side but I guess you have to pay for quality. We visit here once in awhile.
