Good food and great service turned a birthday dinner into a celebration rendezvous. The six of us started with the charcuterie plate and six of the Wellfleet oysters along with a sampling of the signature cocktails: 20 Years After, the Corsica and a Beets Please, which is a delightful wat to start. We went on to a bottle of the... More

Sardine, situated on a lake, has a lovely selection of seafood and array of dishes. The wine list is extensive, and the food is fresh and beautifully made. Sardine is one of Madison's best restaurants.

Sardine is one of my home town bruch go to spots. Oysters are always great start. The Bloody Marys are the best in town. Have an entree/breakfast item and finish with a waffle for dessert. Enjoy!

Very good food - only disappointment was the fried calamari. Thought the food was well priced for the quality. The setting is a fun warehouse - although on the water, not many seats have good water views. The service was very friendly and efficient. Could use a few more less expensive wine choices. Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience.

We eat at Sardine a few times a year. It's a nice atmosphere close to Lake Monona with outside seating in good weather. I really like the "feel" of it, and the decor. This is one of the Madison restaurants that serves raw oysters from both coasts, and I believe they have Happy Hour specials on them. They serve craft... More

I've visited Sardine for lunch & dinners a half-dozen times in the past couple years (as an out-of-towner). In and of itself that should tell you it is a nice place. Other reviewers are not inaccurate as to appearance, style & select. It is so nice it raises one's expectation level. And that is my reviewing point: it has never... More

I am not sure how to rate this. I love the food, atmosphere, service etc. But this is the 3 rd time this year we have been over charged. We often come for happy hour and the happy hour priced oysters. Sometimes just the two of us sometimes with a group. The first time a friend noticed that we didn't... More

Really unique place. Right on Lake Monona with nice views for about 25% of the seats. Menu features seafood. Meals are very good, but not extraordinary. For instance the mussels & frites are quite good (available as an appetizer or larger entree) are quite good - but far from the best I've ever had. It was similar experience for 5... More

Unattractive from the outside, push open the door and Sardine is vibrant, rustic and exciting. Good service from start to finish, nice drinks menu, (try Robert the Bruce beer - that's an experience!), good menu, and interesting well-prepared food at sensible prices. Near the water, pretty nice location in good weather. Take a cab from downtown - it's a hike!

Bustling French Bistro with contemporary cuisine . . . superb service. Visited on a Wednesday night and this place was BUSY! Food had great flavors and everyone around us seemed to be enjoying theirs as well. Beautiful presentation.
