We stopped to try something and ordered two macaroons. They were delicious, although small and overpriced for the size.

All I had here was iced tea, so I can't speak to the food, although everything was gorgeous. If I'd been hungry, I would have had a really hard time choosing from all the tempting flavors and beautiful treats. The staff were extremely friendly.

Just visited NOLA last week and the macaroons at Sucre were incredible. Fairly close to the ones my friend brought me from Paris. The staff was super helpful because there are so many flavor choices!

We had taken a bus to wander around the Magazine St. shopping area and stumbled across Sucre. What a delightful surprise! When I see gelato, I must have some. After trying a couple of my favorites, I asked about one they called nectar cream. Woo-eee! A combination of cherry, almond, and vanilla, I was told it was a New Orleans... More

Looking for gifts or a quick treat, this place is delicious. A bit pricey, but the chocolates and gelato are great.

When you walk into Sucre, you'll notice three things: the pretty pastel colors and displays, the delicious aroma, and the abundance of candies, cupcakes, and gelato. Decisions, decisions. We managed to walk out with only a box of chocolates and a few pounds of hot chocolate mix. While we were there, our group enjoyed one of their gorgeous sundaes, some... More

I've heard many rumors that Sandra Bullock loves to go to Sucre. I love macaroons and love Sandra Bullock, so this is often my go-to spot when I'm craving a sweet treat. I've been here dozens of times and unfortunately never seen her. But I tell myself that I have a reason to come back! My husband always knows to... More

The first time we came here they had a cheesecake dish for breast cancer. Oh my word, we came back for another a day or so later and they were gone. So sad. It was one of the best cheesecake dishes I have ever had. Sorry I didn't figure that one out sooner. Now if they only had a location... More

We were window shopping on Magazine St and came across the amazing little dessert shop. The staff was welcoming and friendly and the desserts were amazing! They have many decadent desserts from macaroons, to gelato, to cheesecake, pumpkin desert, to chocolate. If you have a sweet tooth, this is worth a stop! Delicious!

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
