In one word: exciting. We have yet to be so excited by a restaurant. Clearly a lot of love care and attention have been placed into this food. The entire experience was fabulous. This was an anniversary dinner we will never forget. For me this was the best meal I've ever had, but I was also in a very good... More

Small, neighborhoody experience with some innovative menu items and techniques such as egg mousse and pickled shrimp. Nice find!

With all of the restaurants in/near the French Quarter, I rarely stray to far - boy am I glad I did! Coquette is a small restaurant approx 2 miles from the Quarter. The food is really good and I liked the fact that none of the portions were over the top huge - instead they were the perfect size so... More

We were here for brunch even though we aren't big breakfast food people. So my hubby and I decided to share the fried chicken platter. WOW! Not only was the chicken delicious but the sides and biscuit were amazing. There was more food than the two of us could finish and we are healthy eaters! You might want to try... More

The food here is incredible! You do not want to pass this place up. The menu can look a little intimidating, but if you give it a chance it will go down in history as one of the best meals you have ever had!

We were walking the Garden District and were looking for a place for a mid-day cocktail while our wives did some shopping. Turns out we found Coquette and thoroughly enjoyed a vieux carre round noon while my wife had an exquisite gin cocktail. Stayed for lunch and turned out to be one of the best meals we had while in... We walked form the WW!! museum to enjoy dinner at Coquette; it was worth the walk! A young, fresh vibe and use of local ingredients offered in unique combinations. We almost couldn't believe how good everything was! Another example of how much the young and creative chefs have to offer.

Went to Coquette with old friends to catch up. The service was spot on and our lunch was divine. Michael and Kristin are the dynamic duo in kitchen and always manage to surprise us with something delicious and creative.

We were visiting NOLA and decided to go to this restaurant on the advice of a local. It was delicious! We were very happy with the choice - the menu had a really nice mixture of options, and the food quality was fantastic. The atmosphere was cozy as well. Overall great.

Some of the best fried chicken I've eaten with really good beans, but the potato salad and "corn" pudding that accompanied the chicken left a lot to be desired. The potato salad was bland, and the "corn" pudding seemed to be Cream O' Wheat with a hint of corn flavor stirred in. Not at all what I am used to... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
