We read about this place and it as recommended to us. Beautiful little place on the corner that was a quiet place to dine. Service was impeccable. With every course, the table was cleaned off and new silverware brought. We were not sure what to get. Our waitress was happy to tell us about each dish. We had one small... More

I would highly recommend this restaurant for those who like to try innovative preparations and who enjoy fresh food in interesting combinations. Be prepared to go out of your comfort zone. While my group ordered a variety of entrees, almost all of them were prepared and/or presented in a way we were not expecting. The duck breast, for example, was... More

I had brunch here a few years ago and recently had dinner. Everything was truly delicious and beautifully presented - from the fresh bread and crunchy salt topped butter, to the smoked catfish dip with charred broccoli, to the marinated cobia appetizer, to the wagyu beef, to the tres leches for dessert and the wine list. I haven't had as... More

Had dinner with a few friends here - no plans to return. Staff was very helpful, professional and prompt. The architecture is beautiful. Lots of nice whiskey options. Food flight we tried was bad. Not enough food, not tasty and we left hungry and wanting. May be good for some crowds - but not our fare/flavor.

I felt the hostess was rude telling us they were filled to capacity and they wouldn't be able to accommodate us. Never offered us a seat at the bar. Had to suggest that ourselves and were told oh okay.

A very good friend from Toronto who loves food recommended Coquette so I suggested that my friends who live in New Orleans meet my husband and me there. They had never been so they were glad to try somewhere new. Most of the table had the three-course brunch for $30. We all loved our food, but I have to say... More

We went in, hoping to try carrot cake beignets, but they weren't on the menu. Didn't end up eating, but had a couple cocktails. Bartender knew her stuff and was super friendly. She made excellent drinks and chatted with us, was fun to sit at the bar. A bit pretentious of a space, beautiful, but very hipster.

I read and heard so much about Coquette prior to arriving in New Orleans. We literally ran into the venue one night when we explored Magazine Street in the Garden District. We approached the maitre d and asked for any available table for the evening. She walked us into the second floor dining room. The ambiance is cozy but elegant.... More

Deviled crab is to DIE FOR!! Also highly recommend the barbecue shrimp with biscuits and the fried catfish. Was with 8 friends in a college reunion trip and everyone loved their meals. Will be back! Don't miss out on the deviled crab!

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
