There isn't much to say except get the heck over here and have a great PoBoy! Marv owns the place and he's the guy making your PoBoy in the kitchen. Not only a fantastic fellow, but always friendly, smiling and making the best PoBoys in New Orleans. When the bread runs out, he locks the door so get a move... More

I was pretty excited to try my first po-boy in New Orleans. I ordered the fried shrimp, it's the first thing on the menu and I love seafood. It seems to be made fresh and it was a generous size. Overall, it was very plain. I am not a po-boy expert, but I guess I was hoping for some kind... More

Was looking for a muffuletta on Magazine street, which I couldn't find, ended up hungry and settling on this place. Tried the hot sausage po-boy. Very good, delicious surprise. Wife had shrimp po-boy. Huge. Order the small and you will still be full. Cash only.

Amazing po-boys and service with a smile! I had the fried shrimp and is was so delicious and HUGE! I ordered the 11" but should have ordered the 8". It was packed full of shrimp and I could only eat half! Another person in my party had the catfish po-boy and another had the chicken and they enjoyed them just... More

This is a neighborhood eatery on Magazine - nothing fancy and it always seems to take awhile to get your food, but no one seems to mind. Have a po boy and a Barq's and relax. The food is delicious and the portions very generous.

We had the shrimp po boy and were totally blown away. If you're there with someone, split a fry and make sure to get the Barq's in a glass bottle.

I finally had the chance to stop by Guy's for lunch and glad I did. We ordered the small fried shrimp po boy and a small roast beef po boy. Good thing we ordered the small, because they were big. I have never had so many shrimp in a po boy! Two po boys, two soft drinks, $24. Cash only.... More

Found this little local sandwich shop on our bike ride around the Garden District. What a lucky find it was. The cod Po-Boy was so delicious! The chewy roll was the perfect vehicle for the crispy fish.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
