Get there early. I had the 3 piece with beans and brussel sprouts..amazing. Took a little while to get food but well worth the wait. Great service from everyone. Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had for sure.

This is the real deal. Quality plus character. The fried chicken is the best. It is worth a car ride to get there.

I saw the documentary “If God is willing and the creek don’t rise” and Willie Mae’s was featured on there. I thought to myself, if I ever visit New Orleans, I’ll have to try it. Well, I did, and let me tell you, I’m sure...More

I ordered the two piece white (breast and wing) with macaroni and cheese and butter beans and rice. The fried chicken was delicious. The macaroni and cheese would have been delicious. But, my serving had what appeared to be old bay seasoning or seasoned salt...More

We have to be honest here, the fried chicken at Willie Mae's is deliciously good but it falls short of a place in Norfolk, VA. We have tried local fried chicken places all over the world and the one in Norfolk is hard to beat....More

We completely lucked out with our timing, and had no wait, and a dining room to ourselves when we arrived. By the time we left, the entire restaurant was full with people waiting outside. The food was wonderful, and I have to admit, I don't...More

This place was amazing! Be prepared for a bit of a wait but it is worth it! Their fried chicken is the best I've ever had-and don't forget to order some cornbread cause it's delicious too! I would give 10 stars if I could.

Got there a little before 3:00. Huge line outside waiting to be seated. Waited outside for just about an hour outside. Thankfully the line is on the shady side of the building. Once inside, I waited another 50 minutes for my food to come. Ordered...More

Hands down best fried chicken I've ever had! Staff is friendly and the food was terrific. During our visit there was no waiting line because we went there early. All in all it's worth the trip!

That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi
that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere
else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the
streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered
to be the very best of New Orleans culture and
tradition is, put simply, just how people go about
their daily lives in this historic part of town. As
one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods

There was no line when we ate there but, it would have been worth the wait.
