We had great dinner there, Pizzas are special and delicious, good to have a reservation first, or one may need to wait for long

Cut-rate drinks, bar snacks, like pizza, charcuterie and small plates, and a nice wine list make it enjoyable. Don't et me wrong--Domenica is a great place to have dinner and enjoy great Italian dishes ( the rabbit is particularly good IMHO), but the restaurant bar is an experience in itself. And you can stop at the Sazerac down the hall... More

A nice place, close to the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel and not far from French Quarter, we had a delicious starter with Italian meat and cheese, followed by very 'realistic', Italian pizza. Just the same taste as in the home country of pizza...

We (2) arrived at Domenica and because we did not have reservations, we were told it would be an hour and a half wait. The hostess had a very matter of fact air about her but at that point not offensive. We decided to wait and enjoy some cocktails. After an hour we checked on our status and the hostess... More

Italian with a twist. From the bread and butter to the lamb meatballs all were delicious. The item to get is the lasagna it was excellent and deserves the praises it ha received. Great service next too and attached to The Roosevelt easy to get too.

As an Italian-American, I was brought up on traditional red-sauce Italian food. So I was a little apprehensive about Domenica. The reviews were positive and I decided to give it a try. Well the food was fabulous, the service was terrific, and the prices were reasonable. This is a restaurant you don't want to miss. The four of us ordered... More

This was a recommended place - and a good one. The cauliflower is a must. It's a bit expensive, but worth it. The pizza is great, but the cauliflower made the experience. It's obviously the place because it's packed always.

The risotto, eel, pizza & lasagna are all off the charts delicious! The atmosphere is welcoming, albeit often loud in the one open room setup.

The food was great! Atmosphere was impeccable. The service a little slow but not noticeable given the great food and atmosphere! We will return.

Description
Domenica is a contemporary and inviting Italian restaurant that creates regional Italian dishes with southern and middle eastern influences. The cuisine combines Chef Alon Shaya's Israeli heritage and love of local ingredients with a menu that reflects his time spent cooking and living in the small towns of northern Italy.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
