I've walked past this place a million times while in NOLA and never stopped because I didn't really know what it was. Well, never again. Unlike chains that dress their waitstaff in the attire described in their name (bikinis, etc.), Daisy Dukes is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Family friendly, good for couples, even a solo stop in.... More

My wife and I tried this restaurant at the suggestion of the concierge at the hotel we were staying out for a friend's wedding. Growing up in the South, there's nothing like an authentic southern breakfast joint. The menu was extensive, the service excellent, and every bit of our food, which included bacon, eggs, ham, grits and O.J., was absolutely... More

Daisy Dukes is a great little dive that prepares standard American breakfast favorites for a fraction of the price of hotel restaurants.

Great place anytime of the day or night for awesome eats. Very generous portions, but the minute you walk into the place you get the New Orleans vibe. Owners Gucci and Robert go out of their way to make your meal on point. Try the Bloody Mary's!!!! Really good liquids, with just the right amount of spice. Their "To Go"... More

Pleasant atmosphere, fabulous food. Had the blackened pork chop which came with very good gumbo and fried green tomatoes - all delicious. And a couple of chicken wing flavours also very good. Great value for money, would recommend.

Ate here twice. Next door to the Quarter House. I had breakfast here, then had it again on another day for dinner! I had the ribeye steak with eggs, along with toast and grits. They are not fast... they make everything fresh.

We were immediately seated, but waited 15 minutes before the server acknowledged us. She was rude. They were out of gyros. The grits were awful and the eggs tasted like microwave egg beatera.

They are opened 24 hours a day. The sidewalk was filthy out front and there's construction on the building across the street, very loud. The cafe itself is old and aged, but the walls had the best art and they played the best music. There's tables, high tables, and booths. I'm told they have the best Bloody Mary's you can... More

Yes, they serve alligator sausage! And it's good! Daisy Dukes is a very casual place, they're open 24/7 and ready to greet you any time you might get hungry. We were, so we went in and nice and friendly Pam took great care of us. We had gumbo, alligator omelette and shrimp po-boy. The food was delicious! They have their... More

Daisy Dukes was right next door to where we stayed. The food was pretty good. They serve breakfast all day and have a decent menue. Just remember ti is a bar that serves food. A good place to start tasting New Orleans food..

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
