Super place to get a great steak in New Orleans. It was a short walk from the Sheraton. Very small bar but very friendly bartender. I expected a great steak and was not disappointed. I did not expect the wow-factor of the onion rings. Two words... Get Them!

I have never had a bad meal at Chophouse. The food and service are always excellent. Even the ice water is great. My steaks are always cooked exactly as I order them. They have an excellent wine list. One of my favorite desserts is their cheesecake.

Outstanding steaks! I can see why this is rated in the top five in the city. Service was attentive but not annoying. I had the 12 oz filet and it was better than anything I have had in New Orleans. I would recommend highly and expect to be back soon.

When thinking about dining in New Orleans a steak house is typically not the fare that comes to mind but the Chophouse will make you change your mind. Great food and great service!

Our daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday at a steakhouse in New Orleans. She was very disappointed in her meal. The bone-in rib eye was burnt and salty on the outside and rare in the inside, although she requested medium rare. My husband and our three friends were told that the Seafood sampler entrée was served family style and that... More

Hi Lena, I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience. Let me address your issues one at a time. Our steaks are the very best you can buy, USDA prime, and broiled Pittsburgh-style on a 1700 degree broiler, as noted on our menu. The cookery method slightly chars the steak on the outside without increasing the inside temperature. As... More

We had high hopes for this restaurant! We started off with drinks in the small bar area, while we listened to the pianist. That was very nice and relaxing. The raspberry sour was amazing! When our table was ready the very friendly staff took us to our table. The table was set very eligibility and the lighting was nice as... More

The food was great and the service exceptional. There was live music and the ambience was very relaxing It is located far enough away from the busyness of the French District but still close enough to walk to afterwards.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
