Our waiter Marvin helped to make our first dinner in the city a memorable one! We had a group of four. He was super knowledgeable about the specials and drink offers, remembered all the items we asked for and answered any questions we had, and helped to make our experience pleasant. The food was very delicious: we sampled the Cajun fries, a po’boy, and the special (blackened fish with potatoes and greens) and it was all quite satisfying. The portions are generous and we had a very happy meal. The drinks (hurricanes and a beer) were also very well priced and sized. Thanks Marvin and everyone else!

My husband and I sat at a front window table, where we could enjoy people watching. Food was well prepared, and service was fast, cordial, and accommodating of food allergy safety. My husband is, however, allergic to crawfish, so he had a limited food selection. $5 frozen margaritas during happy hour were icing on the cake.

Me,my wife, and our 3 kids (ages 1-8) were looking for a place on Bourbon street to eat that was authentic and family friendly this place has both. They have an array of cajun food and from what we have tasted it was simply straight fire (so good). Originally me and my wife weren't going to eat here because it didn't appear they had a kids menu but a greeter by the name of Charles warmly welcomed us and pulled out a kids menu explaining how reasonably priced the food was compared to the portions the kids got he was not wrong. Honestly the reason I didn't walk away from this amazing restaurant is because of Charles confirming they had options for my children. Great environment, great food, and the staff is on point.

In NO on business trip, walked into this place just a few blocks from my hotel all by myself. The place has somewhat sketchy feel. Ordered a beer and a "taste of New Orleans". The taste consisted of three small bowls, 3/4 filled with rice. One was supposed to be a seafood gumbo, the other a seafood etouffee. Neither contained any noticeable amount of seafood. The third taste was a sausage with red beans, and contained some beans on top of mostly rice, with a slice of weathered-looking sausage. The food was delivered promptly, no problem with the service, but nothing outstanding. Yet 18% service charge was automatically added to the bill. I have not really tried any other food in NO yet, it must be even worse, if this place is rated as #4 in a city? It is neither good, nor cheap. My recommendation is to skip it.

Location is excellent, atmosphere is excellent! Music in the background is excellent! The food was absolutely amazing! Portion size definitely suits pricing. I had shrimp gumbo which was perfect with all sizes of shrimp that was not overcooked. And then came the Cajun jambalaya pasta, with my introduction to alligator sausage. Definitely a WIN. Not overly spicy, just right. I will have this every chance I get! To top it all off our waitress was amazing. Thank you Alecia for excellent recommendations and great guest service! Ask for her, you won't regret experiencing her Southern Hospitality!

Don't order the poboy ... it's just breaded shrimp ... almost no added flavor. However the other dishes my family ordered were much better. I don't think it is worth the money they charge, but it was a good New Orleans meal with a great atmosphere.

The food at this restaurant was amazing. Great service by Brandee B. I had the taste of New Orleans, which is a perfect sampler for someone who has never had this type of cuisine. My husband had the blackened shrimp PoBoy. He was wanted to return the second night, but it didn’t work out with our schedule. A definite must do in NOLA

Charles wasn’t my waiter but he was a BIG help. He was not only personable, he was extremely helpful when it came to helping me pick a meal tailored to my palette. I am not a big seafood eater, however, I do enjoy it to a certain extent. He advised me to a meal, helped me alter it in a way that would best satisfy me and even cane back around to make sure everything was satisfactory. I am extremely pleased with my visit and I recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits.

Ordered the fried alligator and it was tough and overcooked, ordered fried shrimp and crawfish and it was cold, hard and overcooked. French fries weren’t hard just cold. And staying right in line the beer was ice cold which was great. Maybe we caught them at a bad time but we had nothing close to a 4.5 start meal.

Being that I am from Louisiana, I was very disappointed that the crawfish was $15 a pound! Thats crazy! I was let down, but Jess M reassured me she had something that would make up for it. The redfish special was off the chain and she was right!!! Just big enough and more than enough flavor. I'm glad we decided on coming here and we need to make it back before we leave.

The cajun fries were amazing so happy our waitress Jess M. suggested them. 5 stars ! BF got the seafood platter which was piled with fried shrimp, catfish, and oysters. I got the shrimp platter. Was very suprised with the hushpuppies. Usually very bland, these were jalapeno and had the perfect kick. The atmosphere was was I expected, good jazz music playing and friendly staff. For desert we tried the bananas foster ice cream cake(even though we were stuffed) and as we thought, delicious. Next trip, this is on the list.

Our family of 6 came to Olde Nola Cookery for dinner during Spring a Break. Everyone loved their meals-duck, redfish, catfish, pasta. Drinks were also wonderful and food service was fast! Ordered the pecan pie for dessert. Yum! Highly recommend for family eatery in Bourbon street. Ray was an amazing server with great smile and friendly service.

From the moment we approach the door the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. The greater was polite, asked how are night was going and informed us of the balcony seating option which has a great view of Bourbon street. He was then followed by Vickie, our server, who did an amazing job at going over menu options, drink specials and dish of the day. All with a big smile which didnt go away for a single moment, even after we had to send back a cup of soup. Again, best restaurant service in the French quarter hands down. A+++

I brought my friend to New Orleans for the food. She ordered the sampler platter to taste oysters, catfish and shrimp. Unfortunately, nothing tasted fresh. It all seemed to be frozen and for the price point, I expected better. Also, they are affiliated with Oceana Grill. Do an internet search on "Oceana Grill" for the drama there. If you want good food be sure to check out Coterie. That place was fabulous and fresh!

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
