We went to this restaurant because we wanted seafood, and because it was near the house we were staying at in NOLA. I tried the first ever Chargrilled Oysters and my wife got the Shrimp and Grits. They were both excellent. The Chargrilled Oysters had parmesan cheese added to it and half the fun was eating the semi burnt cheese... More

This Garden District spot is large and hits the mark re their food. Service was spot on and we got a midweek reservation easily. The Catfish Napolean and carrot cake were memorable.

Everything we ordered at this restaurant was delicious. We sat outside which I would recommend if you want a quieter meal and atmosphere.

We had a good family meal here that included plenty of raw and barbecue oysters. It was a fun visit with plenty of local flavors, nice wine selection, and a quiet table near the windows for people-watching. :)

In New Orleans you can get expensive oysters in a few places at $3 a piece and more. Borgne, The Caribbean Room and Seaworthy. There are a million places to get fresh, raw gulf oysters. Avoid Acme in the Quarter. Never stand in line for that. The best places for getting excellent raw oysters are Pascal's Manale and Superior Seafood.... More

We were looking for a great restaurant for the first night of our trip and went off of a local recommendation for Superior Seafood and we were not disappointed! This place is very charming with lots of seating. Even without a reservation we were seated quickly and and our hostess was terrific. We started off with Oysters which were amazing.... More

Superior Seafood is a favorite in our household. We have celebrated my wife's birthday here a few times as well as other special occasions. They have some of the best chargrilled oysters in the city. Also if you want the want best frozen mimosa or mojito you have to come here. It is one of the locals favorite place to... More

We visit New Orleans about twice a year and have found that Superior Seafood delivers great food consistently. We enjoy going early to take advantage of the happy hour prices. 50 cent raw oysters on the half shell are great. The seafood and pasta are prepared with care and taste great. Whether you want to take a date, your family,... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
