A group of us went here (recommend by the tourist office). It's in the Frenchman street area. Sat on the balcony and listened to the live music in the middle of the street. The food was good. Great selection. The only negative was they would not accept our Uk driving license to serve alcohol ... (we were ages 30 to... More

After going thru a phase of watching the food network constantly talk about hot dogs, I craved a crispy snappy hot dog so bad. I wasn't disappointed. Granted it is expensive ($30 for 2 people), but it's definitely a good dog. Bacon, cheese, sour cream and mustard. Go for it!

If you're in a hurry, or looking for a sit down meal dat dog is great! They have hundreds of combinations to choose from and the food is delicious. The service is excellent and the food came quickly! Recommend the milkshakes!

Upon arriving in NOLA, our first stop was Dat Dog, we were in the French Quarter trying to find it with mapquest, kept going around in circles! Our determination finally paid off. DatDog specializes in gourmet dogs and they will not disappoint! I had an Alligator dog and Randy had a Crawfish dog, they were both amazing. We went on... More

Sausages and hot dogs...great selection to go with a cold brew, soft drink and fries. Better than fast food but also a little more costly. Definitely worth a light lunch before a late dinner.

Great variety of dogs. Tried the bacon werewolf and buffalo chicken. Both were delicious. They give you a fork and knife so you won't miss any of the goodness.

I loved Dat Dog so much that I went twice! The first time I had an alligator do topped with shrimp étouffée and a homemade soda... Yum! The second time I had the Guinness Brat Dog and a local beer... Again, yum!!! Definitely stop by for a bite! You won't be disappointed!

Great food and fun atmosphere. You will really enjoy any of the dogs on the menu or you can put together your own with a super wide variety of options on bun, meat and toppings. Service is super friendly and fast. A really enjoyable place to grab a yummy and casual bite to eat.

Really enjoyed the dogs we had for dinner. The restaurant is mostly open air with plenty of seating. Eclectic decor and feel. The food was great. We all ordered our custom dogs with all the toppings we each each like. Plenty of sausage and topping choices. Would have been 5 stars but it did take over 20 minutes to get... More

We love hitting this spot when we get to New Orleans. All different kinds of hot dogs with great presentation. It can get busy in there, especially late night, but the drinks are good and the staff is very friendly.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
