First visit and it did not disappoint. Our favorite appetizer was the oysters. Do not pass these up! For entrees, the table favorites were the ham hock and the duck and dumplings. So rich and flavorful. Do not miss the sides. We shared the greens, grits and lima beans and they were all fantastic. Really delicious, southern food with a... More

Went here twice in three days. Once with business colleges and next with wife. Don't let the $20 price tag put you off, it's worth it. The sandwich is big enough to share. Mushroom and deep fried jerky salad was also great.

I loved this place. Very good food for everyone at the table. I ordered the rabbit dumplings which was one of the best dishes I've ever had anywhere. Perfectly seasoned dumplings with very well prepared rabbit. I highly recommend the restaurant which is a short walk from the convention center. Very busy at lunch. Excellent service.

Nice loud atmosphere and hectic waiters running back and forth, you see a good efficiency paired with good food. I tried the fried alligator not knowing that I would have liked it, savory salad topped with Parmesan cheese (as an Italian I am horrified by that, but I take it as an American signature) and a very thick and slightly... You have got to try this restaurant while in New Orleans. Like many restaurants in New Orleans, the best in the city is usually off the beaten trail. A great staff made the experience even better!

This place has a very eclectic menu with rabbit, catfish and pork cheek but everything we tasted had an incredible amount of flavor. My wife and I started with the Pork Cheek appetizer and were amazed at the incredible flavor and how tender the meat was. I got the Louisiana Cochon with cabbage, cracklins and pickled peaches and would highly... More

We arrived and were seated in the back room - large parties in there and Zero ambiance. Small plates and other orders came out all at once and half of it was cold. Oysters and fried alligator were at correct temperature but the smoked ribs and crab rice were not. We called the waitress over and told her - a... More

Worth the visit! Cochon was the top of our list when we came to Nola and it was recommended by so many friends--now we know why. Everything from the fresh baked bread to the handmade cocktails were delicious. My personal favorites were the oysters, crab rice, mac & cheese, and the grits (oh goodness I would come back just for... More

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
