My husband stopped in on a late, rainy afternoon for a drink and ended up staying for a couple hours. All of the small plates were outstanding, particularly the lobster cavatelli and lobster toast. They have a great Happy Hour. I particularly liked their original Under Wraps cocktail that featured a cumin liqueur -- delicious and creative. CJ was a... More

Excellent selection of wines, cocktails, and bites. Menu was varied but limited, in the best possible way. Turntable behind the bar and mad-men vibe were a fun start to our night on Magazine- love the lower garden district!

We had dinner at the bar on a slow Monday night. My burger was superb. The bartender played vinyl of a turntable behind the bar which was a real switch from the usual programmed music you get most places. He was friendly, the place was quiet and the conversation was interesting. We'll go back.

Great little tavern/bar. Interesting cocktail selection, very innovative. Good wine list by the glass, and a really intriguing list of snacks and appetizers like beef marrow butter brioche tye or roasted fennel ricotta brioche tye. Also nice cheeses and salamis

Really fun date spot. The drinks and service are always great. I highly recommend. The deviled eggs are well worth the trip alone. I would also say the wine list is a little more eclectic, but everything is really good.

Excellent cocktails. Cool retro feel. Even has furniture that Roger Sterling would love. I really enjoyed this place.

Small, nicely decorated restaurant/bar in a quiet Magazine St. area, upscale in menu and price. But if you don't have a big appetite, you can have an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. The grilled cheese sandwich with mortadella and apple butter and the baby greens salad were excellent, and my wife and I were disappointed we didn't have... More

We arrived for our New Orleans Holiday after 10pm on a Saturday night and sought a late night solution with good food and drink outside of the French Quarter madness. Bouligny Tavern showed up on a few sights reco's. The cocktails were excellent and our food choices of Octopus, Blue Crab Claws and a shared Sirloin Burger were, while small... More

I miss my evenings out in my old hometown of Chicago, and thought that I couldn't find the same feel in my new NOLA home. Bouligny Tavern more than fits my need of urban sophistication and great cocktails with a cool vibe, inside and on their patio. The inside has the feel of a 50's nightclub, down to vinyl being... We stopped in for drinks ahead of dinner at Lilette. Nice atmosphere and service. Decor is Mad Men meets the South.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
