This is a real bar--dark, wood furnishings everywhere, and a few posters. We went for the crawfish boil. We didn't know how to eat them, but the bartender and patrons patiently schooled us. It was delicious, and we made some new friends. The bar is not on Bourbon Street, so it feels like the locals patronize it (instead of tourists).... More

Ok...any place with a name like the Three Legged Dog tells you everything you need to know up front...it's a dive, but as dives go it's at the top of the list. This is your typical FQ watering hole. It's on Burgundy St!!! Not bur-gan-dee, bur-gun-dee! So, that's cool. It is on the north side of Bourbon Street which you... More

We never got around to eat dinner. So around midnight we decided we needed something to eat! Another local pub recommended here for good bar food, the chili cheese tots!!!! Yummy! The smoke brisket sandwich!!! Yummy! The two for ones!!! Wow! Kris & Lee were the bartender s and did a great job! This is not a fancy expensive place!... More

Great little hole in the wall, reasonable priced drinks, well made and cold beer. Friendly bartender, should go back for the crawfish boil before we leave.

We were told to try the Tavern from a local who goes there for the crawfish boil. Wow! We loved it and it was a highlight of our time in NOLA. The staff was friendly and willing to share local knowledge. We could tell they love the flavours and food. We were told that their bloody Mary's are worth coming... More

The corner barrooms of New Orleans are where culture is kept alive! The Three Legged Dog is no exception to this phenomenon! At first glance, you may believe that these types of establishments are strange, dirty, and, have nothing to offer. This would be your mistake! This particular barroom is one that has terrific and inexpensive food and potent drinks!... More

Took a group of 16 to the bar & it worked for this large group! Bloody Mary was great green bean hot sauce & shot of genenise beer 🍻! They loved playing darts & watching football on the huge screen! Recommend this if you want a bar with large group!!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
