The alligator and shrimp cheesecake is amazing, as are the boudin balls. I had the fried chicken both times I’ve been and it’s always amazing. Enough for two, really! This is one of my Nola favs!

We enjoyed our last dinner in NO here. Service was excellent! Place is funky and cool. We loved alligator cheesecake (we could have eaten two), fried chicken (outstanding - the whole table wished they’d ordered fried chicken and sprinkled it with hot sauce), redfish, mashed...More

My boyfriend and I had dinner here during a long weekend in NoLA. It has a very homey, local vibe, and everything we ordered was delicious.

The restaurant is located outside of New Orleans proper, but well worth the short drive. Always a long wait, so plan on going early or mid-week. Every dish is the real deal NOLA home cooking and so creatively put together, we can't recommend one over...More

This place was very busy and we waited about 40 minutes on a Friday night. Had heard amazing reviews but was fairly unimpressed. I ordered the fried chicken which I highly recommend splitting since you get four pieces. I've had better fried chicken up north....More

Slightly unusual place on Oak Street, but in a good way. Good food, starting with the warm cornbread placed on the table, with solid service.

Unless you have a group of 5 plan to wait but it is well worth it - we have been coming to New Orleans for over 25 years - our youngest son went to Tulane in the mid 2000's and this is and remains the...More

Get to this establishment early (they open at 5) or else you may wait up to two hours. We arrived around 630 and got seated right away but there was a huge wait when we left. This place is so popular because the food is...More

Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the
greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down
the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate

students living in the area ensure that Uptown and
Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly

I went there with locals who were born and raised in NOLA and we went to a really great jazz music bar after dinner which was right next door. The neighborhood seemed artsy so there may be other things going on too. We took... More
