Don't let the name that hit me as a chain (it isn't) or the location (so close to all the gunk that is Bourbon Street) fool you. This place is upscale and first-rate. Actually a little unassuming on the outside but it is huge inside and very nice. Tiered balcony/white table clothed tables around a large floor area. This was... More

My friends and I enjoyed this restaurant so much last year that we decided to revisit this past Thanksgiving Day weekend. The location and ambiance are simply wonderful! It's only a few steps down Bourbon Street (which is easy accessible from Canal Street) on Rue Bienville. I enjoyed the apple and endive salad, duroc pork chops with mashed sweet potatoes,... More

A friend suggested GW Fins to me, and it was excellent. I come to NOLA quite a bit for business and don't like to go to restaurants in the French Quarter. However, I'm glad I went this time. The food was awesome (you must try the Crispy Pork Belly and Yellowfin Tuna Tartare), my cocktail the Fins French 75 was... More

We had a wonderful dinner here! My salad and grouper were both amazing, cooked and presented to perfection. The creme brulée was yummy. Our waiter Marlin excelled in serving and timing.

I loved the food!! My sister and I met in New Orleans from different coasts to enjoy the city. I got the grouper and she got the whitefish. They were both done to perfection! We also started with the lobster dumplings and ended with the praline ice cream pie. Amazing! The only reason I did not give them a 5... More

Great menu with local and international dishes. The night we were there, the restaurant was packed but we did not feel crowded and the service was excellent. One of the best, newer restaurants in the French Quarter with a good wine list.

The menu is very appealing... I wanted to order everything! The lobster ravioli was one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth . Tuna tartare was bland. He house specialty is Scalibut... baked halibut with scallops pressed on top... Delish! Server was great... knew the menu and wines. We are going back!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
