There were seven of us -- all with various tastes, tolerances, and need for food -- for dinner. The waiter was a pro -- couldn't be rattled -- took all we thew at him in stride which made the dining experience that much better. There was enough variety to please everyone. The waiter nailed the wine recommendation for my veal.... More

Great, easy food restaurant filled with happy locals. My kind of delicious club food uncomplicated by fusion concepts--great filet, mussels, tropical salads with hearts of palm and avocado. Great value wine list. Old fashioned concept with a young, attractive hip crowd.

Our waitress couldn't remember what whole fish they were offering that night-she had to go back to the kitchen twice to find out. Ordered the crabmeat crepe when she brought it, it was cold-a real no no for that dish. She also couldn't answer a simple question about ingredients in a cocktail. The fish was great, as was the dessert... More

This is truly a "neighborhood" restaurant that is worth finding when you're in the New Orleans area. And definitely worth making reservations for in advance! Loved the cozy environment. A great vibe throughout. I had the Crepes with shrimp and lobster sauce - simply fabulous. And for desert I had the Crepe au Cafe - crepes with coffee ice cream... More

When some friends suggested we have dinner here, I was a little hesitant considering I have celiac and cannot eat crepes. However, our friendly waiter reassured me I would have an excellent gluten-free meal and he did not disappoint. Reminded me of our trip to France! La Crepe Nanou has an amazing dessert selection, but it is also steps away... More

Our waitress recommended a couple appetizers that were the evening specials. We had them (cannot remember the name ;-( as well as the mussels.) Mussels were in such a delicious sauce I could have made that plus the fresh bread my whole meal. We each ordered a crepe for our main course. Mine was the crab crepe--enormous serving so I... More

First time I came to this restaurant, it was best crepes, onion soup I ever had. Came back a several times whenever I visited NOLA, it was also nice. But this time, can't describe how I disappointed, I ordered 3 dishes and of which 2 crepes (with shrimp, and dessert) I couldn't finish, they were tasteless. I might try again... More

Get the escargot!! Butter and garlic and snails?? Are you kidding? Dip your bread in that and eat. OMG it's good!!! All kinds of crepes - sweet and savory. Salads are real good - try the avocado with crab. We go every time we get to New Orleans and will go back next time we are there. It's that good.

Besides the European charm, the menu never fails to impress. Cannot get enough of the soups, crepes, mussels, and cheese and pate plates.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
