I wanted atmosphere and I got a mouthful. The small restaurant was packed to the gills with a boisterous local crowd, both at the bar sipping from beer glasses the size of my head and from the too-close-together tables. I had one of their famous shrimp po-boys on fresh french bread with a side of delicious onion rings dripping with... More

This is a real New Orleans family type of restaurant, one for the locals if you know what I mean. Great fried onion rigs to go with the coldest beer in town. You will not be disappointed if you stop in for a meal here.

I used to live a block from Liuzza`s and loved the place, the food is great, the vibe relaxed, the beer is cold...it´s genuine and a place I can recommend.

This is a great locals' spot: delicious Italian food, big portions, pleasant staff. Especially liked the fettucine Alfredo, fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade. This was our favorite meal of the trip.

This is a hands-on family run restaurant that came back better than ever after Katrina, but with the same charm and great food. It's an easy walk from the streetcar. Local history and memorabilia cover the walls and even the tables! They have a great bar and soft drinks are served in huge, frosted glasses. Everything on the menu is... More

Lots of fried stuff, as you would expect. Big steins of beer, not much wine, but always decent, dependable american fare food.

Our family of 3 ate here during our packed week in NOLA. It may have been our favorite in a week of (mostly) great food. Family, neighborhood restaurant off the beaten track. Sassy service. Not a touristy place. Food is sorta Italian, mainly NOLA. Simple and seafood focused. I had THE BEST GRILLED CATFISH & SHRIMP I"VE EVER HAD. The... More

I used to live in New Orleans, and this was always one of my favorite spots. Wonderful food, has that "dive" atmosphere, old New Orleans neighborhood bar with great food. Ice cold beer in a fishbowl mug, great onion rings. Wonderful Italian and New Orleans food...what is there not to like!!! Love the Frenchuletta. French Fry Poboy with brown gravy.... More
