I looked forward to eating at Dooky Chase on this visit, and I had high expectations for the restaurant, based on the interviews and foodie shows I had seen on television that featured Leah Chase. My boyfriend and I arrived at 12:30, which was too...More

Front of house staff were great, waiters, etc were very attentive. We both had the lunch buffet and were wowed by the quality of the food. The waitress was great and suggested a local beer which was very good. The fried chicken, greens, red beans...More

This review is for the 2301 Orleans Ave, not the airport. We were excited to visit this place with so much history and due to the limited hours, reserved the last day before going to the airport, to visit. They are only open until 5...More

It was nice to go and experience this historical place...However the food did not meet our expectations at all. The Chicken was fried perfectly but there were not flavors there whatsoever and for it to take 25 minutes I expected much more. Portion sizes were...More

I'm a HUGE Disney fan, so when I found out that Miss Leah Chase was part of the inspiration behind one of my favourite princesses, I knew I had to eat here! To my disappointment, there were no fresh beignets, but there were plenty of...More

We ate the lunch buffet so we could sample several different things and couldn't decide what we liked best. This place has been in business since 1941. The various rooms are beautiful and nicely decorated with Mrs. Chase's collection of African-American artwork. We roamed from...More

That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi
that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere
else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the
streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered
to be the very best of New Orleans culture and
tradition is, put simply, just how people go about
their daily lives in this historic part of town. As
one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods

There is a lot of parking in the area. Walking while it's light is fine that said, I would think twice about walking at night.
