Went for a romantic 19th anniversary dinner. They printed up a special menu for us that noted the occasion! The food was perfect and we had a wonderful view. The staff was attentive. The order came out very quickly and tasted great. We both had seafood. A must when in NOLA.

Wound up at Landry's after the Mardi gras Parade. Service was superb-the waiter was there enough to make sure we were taken care of, but not enough to be interrupting and bothersome. The only thing better than the service was the food. It did not disappoint. The Oysters Rockefeller was wonderful. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the shrimp dish... More

All of the other reviews are for the Landry's Seafood on Lakeshore drive. The Landry's at this address has been closed for almost 10 years. Wish it wasn't!

Sat at table for more than 15 mins before order taken for drinks which then took another 10-15 mins to arrive. Our waiter was less than useless and only visited our table 4 times during the course of our meal. He couldn't remember what beers they served and refused to go and check. Our main courses finally arrived and both... More

We went for lunch and had a few appetizers and a drink-- everything was excellent. We ordered the following appetizers: crab/artichoke & spinach dip, crap cake and stuffed shrimp- ALL DELICIOUS!!! then we ordered the broiled seafood platter and shared everything-best dirty rice I've tasted in a LONG time!!!

It was our first night in New Orleans, and we were determined to sample the city's famous dishes. Luckily, we chose Landry's. We had a feast, beginning with plump raw oysters, fried pickles, crawfish étouffée, bananas Foster, creme brûlée and coffee with Fra Angelico. It wasn't inexpensive, but considering all the food that we ordered, well worth the money. Our... More

This is a good place to visit if you are looking for outdoor seating on the lake. Entrée prices are a bit high for the quality of food although I haven't been disappointed here.

A great location on Lake Pontchartrain, this is the best place to catch happy hour and the sunset. We had a huge and delicious meal of fried oysters, a generous salad, extra veggies. It was easy access and while there is no family rest room (which we prefer), the lovely hostess guarded the door while we tried out the ladies... More

The day was beautiful and the food, as always was excellent. The view of the lake, Southern Yacht Club and the new lighthouse, all located right outside.

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
