Awesome place for breakfast and lunch! Food was fresh and portions were huge! We went twice during a four day visit to New Orleans.

We had traditional french toast and it was beyond good with fresh squeezed juice. Can't say enough good things about the food here.

What a find! If you want a taste of New Orleans for breakfast (didn't have lunch or dinner there - so can not say if either were as good) then I suggest you put this on your itinerary of things 'To-Do'. So, so delicious, and plentiful! This is a quaint (meaning small), cozy, little gem of a find for a... More

Got the biscuits and gravy, my girlfriend got the Costa Rica with boudin. I couldn't finish the biscuits and the boudin was good. Got the lemonade and I didn't go into a diabetic shock. I would definitely go back. Art for sale was nice.

This place has really good breakfast. Every item in the menu was unique and sounded savory. If I could I would want to get all the items ;).

Had seen on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and decided to try it for breakfast. Had shrimp and grits and the wife had omelet with avocado. Both were delicious, and service was prompt and courteous. Recommend highly.

We spent 5 days in new orleans and couldn't resist stopping every morning for the shrimp and grits. We enjoyed our little morning walk to this place and even set our alarms to the opening of it. The key to avoiding the morning rush is to stop in 5 minutes before it opens. Getting there around 11-12 you may be... More

We came in as a group to eat. Food wasn't that great really. Not a lot of flavor. What was worse is that we couldn't split the check or pay in card. At least let us do one of the two ways. So one of the members at the table ended up having to pay more for everything due to... More

A small restaurant, very casual, unpretentious atmosphere, but excellent food, in lower Garden District. Good value, worthwhile to seek it out. Good for families, menu varied enough to please all ages, including younger kids. Lots of parking on the street

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
