Tucked away upstairs, behind a red door is the best restaurant of Frenchman Street! Chefs prepare FRESH seafood with an amazing twist to flavors that you can select to go with your fresh catch of the day! Mouthwatering! Service was fantastic, and the little restaurant is quaint and worth the wait to get in! Can't wait to return to the... More

They don't take reservations and only accept cash. This restaurant has a long waiting list but I'd say worth it for sure as the food here is amazing! Party of 4 put in our name and waited for more than an hour to get a table. As we waited and questioned that decision people who had finished their meals came... More

If you dont arrive at 530 and join the que you will be waiting minimum 45 min. There is a bar downstairs to wait though for a drink! But this place is worth it 👌 I ordered the shrimp marinara pasta. It was so fresh and tasty! My partner ordered the chicken with spinach and lemon. It too was very... More

FANTASTIC DINNER!!! We waited almost an hour, which went by fast because we sat downstairs and had a drink. Our server, Markey, was fabulous, attentive and spot on in her description of the food. More importantly, her excitement over how good the specials were was a true seller. We had 3 orders of mussels, two strip steak specials, one lamb... More

Super small, only 12 tables. Recommended by a neighborhood local. Best meal by far in NO. The steak and veal dishes were outstanding. Great service from Sawyer. Highly recommended. No reservations taken

Food was good, server was friendly. Place is small and loud so if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the place. If you don't care about that, the food is pretty good!

A shop owner recommended that we try Adolfo's for dinner. She warned that they did not take reservations, but we could go there and put our names on the list and then shop around. When we arrived around 6:30 on a Friday night the wait was around 40 minutes. We put our names on the list and walked around the... More

Frequent this Italian Restaurant when visiting New Orleans. Never had a bad meal here! Small place and they don't take reservations so you need to go early or just be prepared to wait. There are several fun jazz bars very close by to enjoy great music while you wait. Stuffed flounder with crabmeat topping was the special...6 out of our... More

Was taken to the Frenchmen area for a dinner with clients, recommended by a local - boy were we pleased. Cash only establishment (told first thing when we sat down), Adolfo's was a treat from the moment we sat down until the time we left. Cooked to order food, intimate atmosphere, and service that rivals any top-tier NYC, San Francisco,... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
