Instructions: Walk through the door. Stay to the right. Place your order at the counter, as you shift to the left toward the centrally located, old-school cash register. Pay. Find a seat. (They do take debit cards, although not prominently (but intentionally?) apparent.) Food was...More

It was a little confusing at first trying to determine what to do. Passed thru the dining area to a counter. Menu on back wall. Cash register at end. Lines seemed to form in a few places at the counter. We watched for a minute...More

My husband is here for business so I am solo for breakfast. I wanted a good breakfast that wouldn't cost a fortune. I came here based on the review of the grits and wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is located in the business district but it...More

Full up fast and get some friendly service at Commerce. Grits, toast, and sausage are more than enough to get you started for the day. Great food, great environment. Get here early, it gets crowded.

Front desk clerk at our hotel down the street highly recommended this spot for breakfast or lunch(they serve breakfast until 11:00 and lunch from 11-2:30). Boy are we glad she did! The place has been around since 1965 and it is a true southern diner....More

Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title

offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
