1st visit to Port of Call and it's well worth it. We saw this place on one of the Food Network. We ordered the cheeseburger which comes with baked potato for $12. The burger was like what a great backyard grilled burger should be. They do charge extra for potato toppings beyond butter. We also ordered the Schooner Salad $9.75... More

This place is so small but worth being in close quarters. It's one of our go to places to eat. The hamburgers are so good and juicy, instead of fries you get a huge baked potato. The potato comes with only butter so if you want extra toppings which most of us do it's a little extra.

We were staying close to this restaurant so decided to run down and get burgers. They proclaimed they had the best burgers. The burgers are about the same size as they are at McDonald's and not as good in our estimation. My cheeseburger with no sides was $12.50 and my husband's mushroom swiss burger was $14.00. For the $29.42 total... More

Kind of a local bar and burger place to eat. Loved our food here and the local color is fun. We had a mixed drink while we were waiting for a table and it was good! Made room for the cup to take home.

Port of Call is ok, nothing to get overly excited about, but close to our B&B after a long trip down.

Love the casual dive atmosphere, with a busy and fun bar scene. The burger and potato was out of this world! A must do for anyone traveling to NOLA and looking for an authentic joint. Skipped the Monsoon by choice - too much sugar!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
