There selling point is from farm to table. The food truly is fresh. The French Quarter is full of rich, heavy foods so by the time we ate here I needed something lighter. I ordered the Orange and Goat Cheese salad. I also order salmon to add to the top of the salad. The salmon was not to my liking.... More

My husband and I were looking for someplace wonderful but low key. Boy were we happy. Fantastic, warm service and everything we ordered was truly delicious and beautifully prepared. We expected the classics (gumbo, bbq shrimp) to be great and they were but the stuffed pepper was the big surprise winner at our table. Topped off by an extraordinary slice... More

Just go. Pro tip: Make a reservation to Sit by a window. (People watching) Bring a bottle of wine (available nearby) and get ready to dine on some of the best food you will ever EAT in New Orleans. Everything is locally sourced and so fresh and delicious. I'm going back for my 3rd visit in March 2017 and I... More

Went with another couple--none of us very hungry. Ordered several side dishes which were all good to very good. However all had somewhat too much spicy heat for our taste. Small, local eatery. Service was very good.

Had a lovely time at eat with kids and a bunch of family friends! Menu looks uninventive at first, but delving into the appetizers and specials, it gets awesome fast. Byob makes the bill shocking when it arrives. Thanks!

Lunch with friends at Eat was disappointing because our first three choices from the menu were not available (stuffed peppers, chicken etc.). We ended up with crayfish etoufee (was good) and ribs (terrible). Ribs were dry and greasy and the fried green tomatoes were ordered were pretty tasteless as well. We were really sad not to be able to try... More

Recommended to us by some locals in a bar, Eat had great food and excellent service. The Gumbo was really good. I had the stuffed bell peppers and they were absolutely delicious. They don't serve alcohol, but get a bottle at the corner market and enjoy it there. No corkage fee for the first bottle.

This place is great for breakfast. The food is so delicious. It is big portions and creative homemade food. The buiscuts are to kill for. Big and flakey. My was it good. The omelett combinations are done really well and cooked perfectly. Bring a bottle of wine (BYOB) and have a nice start to the day.

Enjoyed a lovely weeknight dinner around Christmas time - would recommend reservations for heavy tourist seasons- but didn't need them for this time of year. Wait staff was so friendly and informed my husband and I it was a BYOB restaurant as soon as we walked in. Also enjoyed a great conversation all night when the waiter came by. I... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
