Had Sunday brunch here and it did not disappoint. The shrimp & grits, steak & eggs and bread pudding were all wonderful. Bloody Mary's we're just okay. Not a very big drink, and they bring you the hot sauce and horseradish to complete it yourself. Would go again

Loved Mr B's. Sat at the bar where we were served by Michael. A good guy with a good sense of humor. Loved the seafood Gumbo and fried shrimp along with Louisiana Abita beer!! Yummy

We stopped in for lunch and were so happy we did. We had heard good things about Mr. B's but seeing/tasting for yourself is believing! The service was very friendly and accommodating while efficient at the same time. This was one place where we felt being a tourist was not a detriment, as opposed to some places who seem to... More

We ate at Mr B's on a Saturday night to celebrate 40 years of marriage. Everything was perfect. Balloons on the table when we arrived. Food and service were excellent. Great location in the French Quarter. Highly recommended for any occasion.

The three types of gumbo appetizer gives one an instant "how to be a New Orleanian " experience. Consistent with the Brennan brand, this locally owned and operated restaurant consistently provides French creole cooking done right. The service is excellent. The ambiance is wonderful.

We try to eat lunch instead of dinner at the really expensive restaurants so we can try them without the huge check. The bloody Mary's are just $1.50 at lunch. They were pretty good but my husband wanted to come here to try the BBQ shrimp and he was not disappointed. He wore the bib and I was glad because... More

Both cocktails and food are very good. Love the $1.50 martini's and Bloody Mary's for lunch. Gumbo YaYa is wonderful and so are the fried eggplant. Only complaint is for $6 you get 4 measly small sticks of eggplant 🍆. The BBQ shrimp are great and very messy, crab cakes are okay but, Houston's Restaurant are so much better. The... More

This restaurant is right across the street from Hotel Monteleone if you're staying there. The food is excellent. It was recommended by a friend who went there in the past. I tried the famous barbecued shrimp. It is jumbo gulf shrimp in a buttery sauce with many flavorings such as Worcestershire sauce and others. I was told by our friendly... More

During our recent visit to New Orleans, we had the opportunity to dine at Mr. B's. Boy are we glad we did. Here's what we saw: Our appetizers, - The crab cakes are the best we've ever had, anywhere. Period. Lot's of crab, not "mash potato-ey" in texture, nor over breaded nor dry. It was very thick and it held... More

My third visit here, first with a group of tourists who'd never been. We had a small hiccup with the reservation (not the restaurant's fault), but had a short wait on an incredibly crowded Wednesday night - where do all these people come from ? Wine, warm bread, shared appetizers, steak, pork chop, shrimp & grits - nice spread from... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
