This place is not fancy but it has some really great food! I don't really like chicken wings but I really enjoyed them here. I would also recommend the Stuffed Shrimp Platter. Service was friendly: Celine was great!

I was in town for a convention. Found this place the first night and returned two other nights. Atmosphere seemed genuine, food was always good (although nothing spectacular). Interesting appetizer platter with alligator, frog's legs and other things. Good service, good drinks. I recommend the...More

We had a great time on our girls trip at Mulates. Everything we tried on the Cajun menu was so yummy! The Mardi gras shrimp was excellent, along with the jambalaya. They have dancing with a live Cajun band as well. It was fun to...More

Recommended to us by our hotel. We were looking for a family restaurant. The food is all overpriced. Our food was not hot and looked like it had been under the warmer for hours.

Recommended to us by our tour guide, this delicious creole restaurant features delicious fish dishes. We were there on a Friday night and they had an excellent band and dancing.

We always enjoy going to Mulates not only for the authentic Cajun food, but the music, too. A large and a very busy restaurant, but can always be seated. Staff is very courteous and friendly. Suggestions on menu items are explained for newcomers. Fresh bread...More

The food was just okay, and the service matched it. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but all the patrons were smashed together very close to the zydeco band, which, while very good, was very loud. This place purports to have authentic cajun food, but we've...More

Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
