Reviewed yesterday NEW

Very disappointed. Would like to try other dishes on menu, but probably won't return. Got the ribs, and they were very tough, hardly any meat and had to fight to get any off the bone. Burned ends were small pieces, half of them gristle. Similar with the pulled pork. However, I loved the chicken quesadilla and I loved the cole... More

The building and decor are dive bar style, durable and clean. We stopped in for a late lunch so it wasn't crowded. The food was very satisfying, both in how much and how well prepared. We ordered authentic barbeque and it really hit the spot with a cold drink on a hot day. This bar/restaurant is very convenient walking distance... More

My husband and I were with 3 other couples staying at the Marriott following a cruise. We were looking for a casual place to eat near the hotel. This place was very casual with colorful picnic tables for seating or high tables with bar stools. Ypi placed ypur order at the bar and pick it up at a window. My... More

We stopped in for a late family dinner. Bartender greeted us right away. He was very friendly and told us how things worked. I ordered the pulled pork and jambalaya. It was very delicious. My kid order the pulled pork and macaroni & cheese. I sampled it and it was delicious as well. I would recommend this place as a... More

So we were hungry and had made late reservations and just needed to sit, grab a beer and a snack after a long day's trek around town. This place is quite large, with nice outdoor seating, a separate room with musicians playing, and a large bar with picnic table seating and the coolest decorated piano I've ever seen (Mardi Gras... We were told about this place from a local. I wish we had found it early on in our trip. I would have gone back again. We had BBQ Ribs and Pulled pork. Fabulous! cheddar cheese biscuit was hot from the oven and melt in your mouth. We were also given a sample of the crawfish, which I had not... More

We were in New Orleans for a catering conference and for lunch one day we decided on the ugly dog saloon. We walked over from the convention center and they had a pretty good lunch rush. We placed our order and received the standard pager and was told to wait. We had 4 in our party and found a seat... More

I was in town for a conference and alone for dinner on Saturday night. The other nearby restaurants were busy so I walked over here. It was pretty dead so I sat at the bar. I had 1/2 rack of ribs with coke slaw, and an amber ale on tap. The ribs were good, but not hot (temperature). The Cole... More

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
