It's been a few years since we've eaten at LPG. The last time there we enjoyed ourselves, but the last several times we've been to NO, there were always other (newer) restaurants we wanted to try. Even though it had been a while, we were looking forward to our dining experience at LPG. We started with the sweetbreads (a daily... More

Very fond memories of a good meal here a year or two ago. This trip was average. Service was friendly and knowledgable. French 75 was well-made. Salad bland and under dressed. Hamburger was tasty, side of Mac and cheese was nothing special. Perhaps it's what I ordered after several decadent meals and plenty of drinks over a couple of days,... More

Girls trip took us there and we enjoyed a few appetizers before our concert. The crab beignets are a must and the grits! The special ravioli and Mac and cheese were too salty. Seriously, I love my salt but this was too much! We sat at the bar because they were "full" and service was wonderful; however, many empty tables... More

Went here based on the recommendation of a friend. Superb food. We could have ordered half the menu. A real focus on fresh and daily ingredients and specials. Very classy space in a good location. I'd put it into the rotation on our next trip.

We enjoyed many great meals on our recent visit to New Orleans. A vote in our five person group was unanimous on La Petite Grocery as #1. The menu choices are abundant with daily specials. We read in a review that the pasta is made daily at 5pm and it is a must try. The house specialty Blue Crab Beignets... More

I was taking 8 coworkers to dinner and had to find the right spot. This place was spot on. Excellent service and excellent food. Homemade pasta! That rarely happens. Definitely will be back.

Sunday brunch started with a pair of decent bloody Mary's though bar service took forever. My wife ordered a chilled beet soup that was refreshing and truly a winner. Can't say same for the blue crab beignets - too rich. Bit later came her fried pork loin and my fried shrimp sandwich. Her pork was tender and well seasoned but... More

The chef was one fire the night we went, with incredible seasonings and creative combinations, including beet soup with crab meat and creme fraiche and a pompano cooked with sausage, beans and great spices. The food was so good that my nephew and I (both New Orleans natives) realized we had stopped talking because the food was so incredible.

We were there on a night when the air conditioner was not working well. So we were a bit warm. But it was well worth it. We really enjoyed the experience. This is a very fine restaurant, with an interesting menu and great food. Our table tried the soft shell crab, the alligator pasta and the lamb shank. All were... More

In NOLA for a family reunion, so we wanted a special dinner to enjoy fellowship over dinner. So we were all from out of town in NOLA, so with a few choices, the La Petite was a worthy food adventure. After a few crafted cocktails, the sommelier was accommodating, with in depth knowledge of the wines which made for a... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
