Beautiful courtyard for Sunday brunch. French onion soup, shrimp & grits, along with strawberry-infused mimosas. All were delicious. Josh, our server, was great! People were in line at 10:30 for 11:00 opening.

Charming courtyard garden dining. The goat cheese with fig spread and bread was delicious! I also had the Jerk Pork with Mango sauce. It was a delicious and a bit spicy, but that was to be expected. I would recommend having a reservations. While I was there, they seemed to have a steady income of diners, some they had to... More

Just opposite The Cornstalk Fence Hotel, this café - witch is really a restaurant and bar - was a very good experience for lunch. There was no table, when I arrived, but I was invited to stay in the courtyard where I enjoyed a drink from the bar. The courtyard has a really lovely ambience with lots of trees for... More

Sat down and waited a half an hour before walking out. We were sat at a table in the center of the room, passed by countless servers, but no one stopped to take our order. Even after we attempted to get their attention.

I stayed at The Cornstalk Hotel last week and walked across the street to Cafe Amelie for dinner. I didn't have a reservation, but they had a cancellation and so I was able to get a table. The meal was delicious! Fruit and nut bread with goat cheese and fig jam to start, then seared Ahi tuna for my entree;... More

I absolutely loved the food. I went their for brunch. I'd been dying to go for a long time. I had the sunny up with the Cochon au lait with their chicken and andouille gumbo. Food was unbelievable. Service was ok. I feel like since I was alone, I was slightly neglected. I didn't get the same treatment as couples... More

Honestly a seriously romantic delicious spot tucked back in a lovely garden setting. I went with a couple friends , but we met enchanting people all over the place falling in love. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were the sweetest most attentive and funny guys ever. And mixed up some delicious concoctions..I honestly wanted one of everything... More

Description
Please note that the courtyard is seated on a first come, first serve basis. A reservation does not guarantee seating in the courtyard but we will have a table available inside our beautiful, historic carriage house. We normally allow reservation space for only 50% of the dining room to accommodate walk-ins. Additionally, in order to accommodate all of our guests who are waiting to be seated, we are only able to seat your party once everyone has arrived. Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Cafe Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting. Cafe Amelie has a full bar offering an array of signature cocktail creations. Cafe Amelie and the accompanying Princess of Monaco Courtyard are also available for private parties, weddings and receptions.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
