Located uptown and pretty easy to get to. I only had a coffee and pastry that were pretty good. Not the best, but not disappointing either. Moderately priced. My spouse raves about this place so I decided to give it a try. The front counter service was kind of rude, but hey, I have come to lower my expectations to... More

After about dozen visits, had bad encounter with chef after having left a suggestion in suggestion box and having made direct, quiet observation. Food for counter service was slow. Breakfast fare average. Salad hot. Soup good, sandwiches had good bread. Chef...bad experience after approximately 12 visits. Inappropriate use of n-word, (he is black) tea-party members, yelling, rude. I have hygiene... More

Hate that this place is not open on weekends, but if you can get there during the week, grab some bagels.

Was very friendly neighborhood place. Talked with some locals where to go and what to do. Owner talked withus and we s at outside in December in 80 degrees...can't do that in WI! All bakery we tried was good, cinnamon roll, shoe print (like an elephant ear), scone and breakfast sandwiches.

Nice quiet little place, my wife and I come here all the time for a late breakfast baked something or other. Always seems like there is something on offer that I haven't tried yet. Love the brioche.

I stop here most mornings on my bicycle route. It's a great place to get a cup of coffee and a bagel, brioche, or some other type of pastry - they have sandwhiches too. The inside is reasonably small - maybe a half dozen tables. There are about 10 or so tables on the sidewalk out front. By New Orleans... More

We had breakfast from here 2 mornings; everything we tried was very good--loved the pecan biscuits; quiche also outstanding--I don't think you can go wrong with anything from this bakery.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
