I first had the Ba Le Chicken sandwich on a croissant a few years back in Maui. I loved it so much, that I ate four of them in just a week's visit. To my surprise, while visiting the big island, I saw Ba Le Vietnamese and knew that I had to grab my beloved sandwich again. You can get... More

Kinda weird I haven't written a review for Bale yet. This is one of my go-to spots, not only because it's almost the only Vietnamese in Kona- but because they are really good too. When I first ate here I would almost always get the vermicelli noodle bowl with fried pork rolls. That is still delicious, but the last few... More

We stopped here for supper after an afternoon at the Waikoloa shops. Although the restaurant itself is lacking a little ambience, the service was great and the food quite delicious! I ordered the grilled chicken banh mi and a green papaya salad with shrimp. My husband ordered the pork banh mi with beef pho. Everything was very tasty and nicely... More

My friend took me here as it is one of her favorite local spots. Let me just say it did not disappoint. I had the special Saimon bowl on my first visit. The broth was so sublime, so perfect and clean in its taste that I raved about it for hours. Two days later we were back where I had... More

Reasonable for the area, but the food didn't agree with me or my wife. Even though we both had simple rice dishes we both felt a little queasy 30 minutes later. Service was friendly, food was brought out quickly. We did both like the sweet potato tapioca pudding.

Literally the only pho option in town. Their soup is hot (temp) and flavorful, the noodles are snappy, and the sliced meat is tasty. Try the sandwiches too. My fav is the lemongrass spicy. Save room for tapioca (coconut, chocolate, sweet potato). Delish.

The restaurant is next to the KTA supermarket on Palani in downtown Kona. Food is good, service fast and friendly, and prices well below Kona average.

Headed here for lunch as my husband and I just wanted something quick and tasty, and we were not disappointed. We both had ba-le rolls (1 lemongrass chicken, 1 pork meatball I think) and were really pleased. Service was fast and friendly - great place for a light lunch and a bit different to the burgers etc that most places... More

Recently came back to Kona to eat at this place. Used to eat here all the time when living on this side of the island. It’s still at the same location after all these years. Had a bowl of rice noddle with lemongrass chicken. And sweet potato tapioca for dessert. Still the same flavors, satisfying and tasty. Lunch time, the... More
