Unassuming entrance but warm and casual inside with a friendly staff. Not many people around for dinner in February but it's kinda nice that way. Good beer and food. Enjoyed the steak the most, rare is more like medium rare, the baby back ribs were...More

Its a very odd decor...part 1970's disco with a huge selection of Jim Beam decanters on the wall. I got the obligatory Halibut chunks, which are crazy expensive especially when you think they catch those bit fish nearby. They were mighty tasty and I loved...More

We very much enjoyed dinner at Thorn's. Fun atmosphere with the bourbon decanters on display. Also enjoyed the live music.

Had a terrific meal. Great service, great food, and we just loved the interior. A step back to another era. Highly recommend.

Had a late evening snack of halibut bites and a beer. Fun people watching too. Very good collection of strange booze bottles

Salty fisherman, quirky locals all found at this bar. Beer selection is good and cocktails are mixed great. Food is classic Alaska americana. Seafood, burgers and appetizers.

The room was crazy wild with every imaginable decorator bottle of Jim Beam. It was cool to see the collection and recognize some from my granny's personal collectibles. The Halibut was awesome and the Ice Tea was perfect.

From the outside it looks like the local bar. Go inside and you'll see the red vinyl upholstery and the whiskey decanters in cases on the walls. The people are nice and the food is good. We shared the large bowl (14 chunks) of delicious...More

We went there for lunch on a Monday, late September, after the "busy tourist season" had ended. Dimly lit, bar atmosphere. Few customers were there. Appeared to be one waiter working. After 10 minutes waiting for a menu, we left. Do not plan to eat...More

The captain on our boat trip recommended Thorns as the best place in Seward for a basket of butts. He was spot on. The fish was tender, hot and tasty. Service was good. Thorns is a bar with a small dining area and the day...More

I found a menu online on the zomato website(I can't post the URL here) but I have no idea how current it is. I can't remember the prices I and my group paid back in February but I think we paid a few dollars more for some... More

I'm not sure about the recipe for the butts. If you like lobster, I have a poor man's lobster recipe. 4 c. Water 1/4 c sugar 1/8 c salt Boil, drop 1 inch size chunks of halibut in water. Remove as soon as it floats, not long... More
