I noticed this place while out shopping nearby. Looked it up on TA and then suggested it to the wife, who loves Mediterranean food. We happened in while a big festival was being held on the adjacent street. Surprisingly the restaurant was not busy, I guess most people were eating at the food stands along the road. Food here was... More

We randomly went to Samir's when I was nearby at UW's campus for continuing education and it's become a go to restaurant for us anytime we're in Seattle. It's informal, with only 9 tables maybe, but the food is AMAZING! If you're not on a date and worried about your breath afterward, they have an amazing garlic paste that's mouth... More

My buddy Samir runs one of my favorite places in the U District aptly named Samir's. Whenever I am in the U District, I always make an effort to eat there because he makes me feel like an honored guest and I love the food. He opened the first Mediterranean restaurant in Washington State thirty-eight years ago. Samir is one... More

This is the real deal. Samir claims to be the only one in Seattle who makes his falafels from scratch. Not the powder stuff. He adds spice to personal tastes.

Just happened on this place for lunch and what a good choice !! Th owners were so nice and the food was great. I had a gyro with marinated chicken for $4.35 and it was quite large. Really good deal for money

Found this place walking home from class one evening. When you walk in you feel right at home. The owner, Samir, originally from Lebanon, has owned this restaurant for over 25 years. Everyone talks to you and were willing to tell you what was good. I had the vegetarian platter. Stuffed red peppers with rice and a large salad. Delicious. It... More

Walking distance from my hotel on Roosevelt so no need to look for parking. Fresh, flavorful and just the right amount. I loved the dressing on the salad with the gyro plate. Great hummus, smooth texture with a nice clean taste. Just off of the main part of university street. For a few moments I thought I was back in... More

I wouldn't say this place has best Mediterranean food (which means things like gyros, shwarmas, etc.) But food is quite decent and what is great is an extremely friendly owner and hole in the wall feeling.

This is a modest looking place with a friendly atmosphere and SUPERB and FRESH food. We had the tabouleh, which was the best we have had anyplace, whether in Seattle or the Middle East. We also had the falafel plate, which was also great. The portions are very generous. We will be back!

Thank ubuSeattle
