My first experience I was pregnant.... though didn't know at the time.... she is almost 39... and after a concert at the Seattle Center.... my date and I were looking for place to eat.... and the SUNYA was "eye" pleasant... and the food was amazing.... fast forward as I moved to Oregon.... my waiter was not the Maitre D.. and... We are long time fans of Sun Ya as great dim sum and seafood. But over the last couple of years it has gone down hill, fast! The food is still very good but the restaurant is now so dirty and smelly, especially the bathrooms, that we can no longer go there. We took a couple their with us at... More

I had the best fried oysters of my life here and was so full I had to give the deliciousness away to the hotel clerk as I had no place to keep them. People say they have good dim sum but I don't know what that is so try the fried oysters if you like that sort of thing.

I was looking for an option besides Jade Garden, because I had a family of 9 and know how difficult Jade Garden is to get into (with good reason - the dim sum are excellent!). After reading reviews, I decided we'd try Sun-Ya. We arrived around 2pm, which, granted, is towards the end of the dim sum serving time. Staff... More

The place, atmosphere (and at least one of the managers) haven't changed much at all in that time. Food quality is excellent, some of the most flavorful food I've had out of Hong Kong. I had always gone for dum sum between 11am and about 3pm before but on Nov 3, 2014 I went for dinner. Usually standing room only... More

"Another Dim Sum restaurant...." We went for lunch... it seems that if the chosen restaurant serves Dim Sum, it is immediately and exclusively pushed -- literally, by the wagonload(s) full. 1. Always hard-selling DIM SUM: I had to especially ask for a menu, which took a bit of effort for them to produce, as I wanted to see what they... More

I went to Sun-Ya on a Sunday with about 10 friends for my first ever DimSum. I loved it! It was fantastic! So much choice and the food was exquisite. And the price was incredibly reasonable! I really enjoyed myself. Next time I am in Seattle, I will be back here on a Sunday for the best Chinese food I... More

Last week I was in Seattle and my friend who has lived there for over 40 years suggested this restaurant. We went there at 1pm and the restaurant wasn't full for it was a weekday. Service was good and we were showed to a table right away. Ladies who served dimsum had smile on their face and were very polite.... More

We got there when it opened at 9:00am. In fact, we got there a few minutes before 9:00am, so were standing just outside the parking lot on the sidewalk looking at other places along the street. The owner arrived just after us, and told us we could not park in her lot. Once we said we were waiting for the... More

As stated in my review about a year ago the food is very good and the price is reasonable. I just wish the would do a major remodel. The carpet is worn out and the bathrooms really need attention.
