Came here after reading an article from the Stranger (Seattle) about good tasty combo's of waffle and chicken. This place was one of the 3 listed. So came at lunch and had a Bloody Mary, Waffle/chicken, and wife had Mac & Cheese. The BM was tasty and had some great zest and spice added to it. The waffle was not... More

I've lived around the corner from Catfish Corner for a while but went in for the first time today. I was not disappointed. The food is Southern comfort food. I had a friend chicken sandwich and a side of collards. YUM. The hostess is charming and the restaurant is stylish and very well run. I'd like to make this a... More

Our family of 4 came to dine most of whom ordered catfish and fries, one ordered the Obama burger and we had fritters to share. The burger is hand pressed lean ground beef topped with cheese hot link and fried egg which was great. Catfish nicely seasoned served with tarter sauce with an added kick. A nice treat out of... Excellent catfish fried right. Light cornmeal breading and lightly fried. Perfect Southern style, exceptional service and hospitality. Easily the top one or two places to get consistent top quality catfish. The home recipe tartar sauce is amazing, and this is coming from someone who doesn't otherwise ear tartar. The owner grew up working for the original catfish place in Seattle... More

New name, new owners and new menu. This is a Louisiana style eatery with grits, chickens and a new taste for this Central District area. The chicken was moist, just spicy enough and tasty. Served on top of waffles. Butter and syrup. Also available an Andouille sausage gravy. Definate Louisiana style. Coming soon will be their own jambalaya mix.. Beverage... More

The fish was previously frozen and waterlogged, fried pERfect but mushy and needed salt or seasoning. The cirnbread was cakey, dry and stale. The red beans and rice were literally straigh out of the can beans over rice. The slaw was minimal mayo w red sauce. Hush puppies had nice flavor but globby and over deep fried. Also bit pricey for... More

This new Jackson's Catfish Corner is, I believe, the absolute best catfish in Seattle. This renewed food source is on Rainier Avenue S. After years in the world of salmon and halibut, real cornmeal coated, deep fried catfish is pretty close to heaven on earth. Our family loves it and it's a half hour drive for us. But so worth... At first look, one might not think this is a place you would want to stop or would have good food, but you would be wrong. Do not judge a book by it's cover. It is not fancy, or even pretty inside, but I am not eating the décor. I go for the outstanding food. I have been going here... More

I'd driven by this place 100's of times and always wanted to try it out. Finally did Food is reasonably priced, tasty and substantially less greasy than I'd expect for this genre. Catfish and mash potatoes were both great. Their special tartar sauce is fantastic. The decor isn't much (order fast food style and bring to your table), but the... More
