Ordered a variety of treats for a party, and they were a hit! The mini tarts were gone in seconds, and the macarons were a crowd favorite. Planning to order from them for all future events.

Disappointing experience with preorder. I pre-ordered a $68 red velvet cake for donation to a non-profit fund-raising event. I specified an 8 am pickup. I showed uo at 8:10 and I had to wait nearly half an hour while a staff person "decorated" it. When...she showed me the cake, it had a couple of tired, icing covered berries on it. I asked if she could do something more for decoration. She said that she would try, but she "wasn't a baker." The end result was plain and tired looking. I have ordered many cakes from Macrina over the years and this was the first time I have been quite disappointed. The cake will be auctioned off and I was counting on a special looking item.More

We enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches and other treats from Macrina. Very close to the apartment we stayed in, so it was convenient as well. Yum!

We had breakfast here before going to the space needle. The food was very tasty and filling. I can have breakfast here every morning given the chance.

Stopped in on our way to the Pike Place Market. The pastry selection here is amazing and the coffee was very good. Service was fast and efficient.

While staying in the area, we planned to pick up breakfast from here but never had an opportunity. On our last night, I found that my family picked up some things from here to celebrate my birthday. What a sweet surprise!

Pastries are delicious and worth the visit. We went twice since we enjoyed our first visit so much. However, our helper on the return visit acted as if our order was a nuisance to him. This really spoiled our feelings about the place so knocking...off a star for that.More

We're staying in a condo just above the Macrina Bakery. BIG mistake. Coffee and a pastry each morning is so yummy it makes us want to jump up early and beat the crowds. We've tried numerous breakfast pastries and not been disappointed with any of...them. Especially loved the orange hazelnut flaky pastry roll, the flaky apple turnover, the chocolate croissant, . . . the list goes on and on. In addition we've purchased a sourdough bagette (for wine & cheese) and an apricot nut bread loaf (for toasting at home). So much to eat, so little time. But my waistline will thank me for going home.More

This was recommended when our fave breakfast spot for closed, so we headed on up the street and got in line for pastry (you could also get breakfast sandwiches heated) and coffee. The pastries were big and rich and delish. The coffee was not such...a great roast and was SLOW to come out. Putting our best COVID patience faces on, we were patient, but the problem here is not the servers who are working their tails off; it is the entitled customers who don't want just a cup of coffee, but something oh so special indeed. I would not go at this time of day (9:30), though if I were a local, might buy my bread here -- later in day..More

The four of us stopped in on the way to the airport and loaded up on cinnamon buns, Apple pastry, bagels and a hot breakfast sandwich. All of it was fresh, scratch, full of flavor, and eaten quickly with a couple of to-go bags for...the plane. If you are in the area, a must stop.More

Six of us came here for lunch on a sunny day and were able to sit outside. This was a treat, except that it can be noisy with all of the semi-trucks passing by. I had the flank steak sandwich which was very good (but...pricy at $12.00) and then we all had one of the fabulous chocolate chip cookies. Delightful !More

Tried the banana bread and cornetto, along with the drip coffee. Huge portions and delicious. Pleasant service and the line was well-managed and moved quickly. Looking forward to trying their other baked goods.

I am ready to be more critical now that we have entered Phase 2 of Governor Inslee’s reopening plan. Criticism flows easily from my persona. Macrina disappoints me more each time I try their bakery products. The most glaring error is the lack of a...crisp crust in any of their breads. It is as if Macrina is baking for an 8 year old who yearns for Wonder Bread sans crust. Even their baguettes have a mushy crust. If I want mushy, I would eat mashed potatoes instead of bread. After tasting bakery from Macrina, Marie Antoinette would have uttered, “Let them eat Quinoa!” The staff at this Belltown location are flippant and a bit too nonchalant. I once waited an inordinate amount of time while a staff member finished a personal phone call. It was like I was invisible, to quote Ralph Ellison, who should be required reading for anyone under 40 years of age.More

We’re fortunate to have two fabulous bakeries within a five minute walk of our new apartment. Macrina is a local chain that creates great breads and pastries that are decidedly American compared to the other bakery, La Parisienne. What I mean by “American” is technique;...less subtle, more upfront, with bold flavors. They are both great, just different. Macrina is more popular with the prolific Seattle demographic, young, flannel and techy. It is large and even busy during the Coronavirus pandemic. La Parisienne is obviously more European, with a sophistication reminding me of my beloved Paris. I am older and never wear flannel. Most likely, I’ll head to 4th Ave rather than 1st Ave just to feel like I’m in my favorite city in the world.More

Actually wanted to eat but most items were out. Ended up getting some cookies and a couple of different desserts. They were good. If you want to eat items other than just goodies get to this place early.
