Love going to eat here with my husband, the food is incredible and the service is the best. We witness a marriage proposal while we were there and the staff went out of their way to make it extra special.

We visited the Marx Brothers Café in June 2016. We visited at 8:30pm on a Wednesday (I think) the our first night in Anchorage. When we arrived there was one other party finishing dinner, but they left shortly after we arrived and then we had the restaurant to ourselves. Given that there is a several hour time difference between our... More

My Fiancé and I have a tradition to go to Marx Brothers for their New Years Eve dinner. Unlike last year, we didn't know what the menu was until we arrived. This year's menu was a showstopper! Tuna tartar, lobster bisque, Kodiak scallops, Duck confit, White peach sorbet for a cleanser, Loin of venison and poached pear for dessert. It... More

Lovely ambiance, the restaurant is in an old house. Seating is limited, so reservations are a must. I loved their menu - not overwhelming with choices but a very good variety. One special for the night. Items we had were the Foie Gras as appetizer, wilted spinach and pancetta salad (both of these shared), the rack of lamb (cooked to... More

My wife and I went to Marx Brothers Cafe to celebrate her birthday. It had been recommended as a place to go for special occasions. That was definitely a good recommendation. The food was excellent. We had Van's Caesar salad prepared tableside and it was marvelous. I tried the veal entree - loved it. Very tasty. The wine choices were... More

Not ever having been to Alaska before, I wasn't sure to expect in the way of foodie spots, other than anticipating good salmon and halibut. But I wouldn't have guessed that I'd find one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while in Anchorage! Marx Brothers Cafe has (rightly) won a slew of awards (which you'll see on... More

We were on a group tour and this was the final nights get together. A little small for a group of 30. Food was average to above average but not great. Staff had trouble keeping up with tables.

very disapointing food preparation. The Halibut was overcooked and tasteless. I had such great memories of this place from my visits 10 years ago, but it is not the same.

This cafe has had the same owner for over 30 years. The service was impeccable. The food was excellently prepared. Reservations recommended.

I took my wife to this restaurant for our anniversary. It was our first time here. We had heard many good things about it. Our experience was disappointing to say the least. We had a reservation and were seated in a timely manner. It wasn't very busy so I could not understand why our waitress ignored us for a full... More
