We had a quick lunch on our way back to Vegas. Emily, our waitress, was super sweet and got our food out quickly. Everything was great, but the Chili Relleno bfast casserole with those potatoes and the banana bread won!

Over the years whenever I am near Boulder City on a visit to the area including Hoover Dam and more recently Colorado kayak tour I make time to have at least one meal at the Southwest Diner. Great comfort food, including the best Rueben Sandwich...ever. If you like homemade baked goods you’ll be in heaven.More

First, let's get something out of the way: This is NOT a "diner" in the sense that many people think of the term. There isn't a HUGE menu, with every possible type of food. It's more of a "family restaurant" - which is great! I...only mention this because some people (especially those of us from the east coast USA) have this idea of a "diner" being a particular entity...and this isn't it. NOW...with that said, this restaurant is fantastic! I was recently in town for a full week and had the pleasure of eating there a couple of times. The decor is simple and blends in with the area. The tables are clean and well-spaced. There's a nice animatronic guy out front who is always available for selfies. The staff was friendly and attentive, offering recommendations without being pushy. Service was quick. The food was plentiful and delicious! One day was cold and rainy, so I ordered some comfort food: fettucine with meatballs. SO MUCH FOOD! Another time, I ordered - on the server's recommendation - the "choice of 3" combo platter. Everything was fantastic and, again, there was a LOT of it. Despite being completely stuffed, I had to try one of the pies. No joke, the blueberry cobbler was one of the best I've ever had. Finally, I have to mention the prices. They are incredibly reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of food. If you're in town, or driving through, definitely stop off at the Southwest Diner. It's a must-eat-at restaurant.More

We got "stuck" in Boulder City at the end of a long days drive - now where to eat? BC has every fast food outlet you can think of but that is not going to fly. We tried the Southwest Diner - an excellent choice...- my wife said it was the best casa dia she has ever had and the chimichanga was very good as well = along with very cold beer and an awesome fresh pie selection - strawberry/rubarb with two scoops of vanilla ice cream - a great find on main street of the town.More

My husband and I always make the trip to Boulder City every time we visit LV. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is great and the food comes out quickly. We always take a piece of their homemade pie home. My husband...had a Boulder Burrito & I had the #2 special with homemade Banana bread. Both were excellent. We took a piece of the Strawberry Rhubarb pie to go home. It is always fun to get out of LV and dine at the Southwest Diner while visiting the Boulder City area.More

This was a perfect place for comfort and easy food including breakfast and chicken tenders. Our family of 4 were satisfied. Reasonable prices and quaint hometown atmosphere with mason jar drinks. The service was sweet and friendly where our waitress took the time to chitchat,...love that! The banana bread option to toast is a must have.More

This diner serves delicious food. Serving sizes are big. The pancakes are as big as the plate and thick! We have eaten here on two different vacations and the food was great both times. You will not be disappointed!

This is a very nice place close to our motel that we tried for breakfast. They had some excellent choices for somewhat reasonable prices and pretty good coffee. We would go back but next time get the hash browns instead of "those potatoes".

We stopping on a Thursday before heading home. Denver omelette was very good but all of the fillings were diced very small. The blueberry pancakes were good also except they forgot to bring the sausage. Our server was a little slow, it could have been...her break time as she sat at the counter a lot.More

We loved it! We always strive to eat local when we're traveling and this little place hit the spot. It was busy, but food came super quick and our server was friendly and attentive. The menu has enough options without being overwhelming and they had...daily specials. I had the homemade corned beef hash and it was excellent. Recommended.More

Wow, just wow. My husband is a particular eater and he LOVED his Chicken Strips and the fact they are Coke! I had the bacon, cheeseburger and needed extra napkins (always a good sign). The fries are lightly breaded and amazing! Will be back next...time we are in Vegas (30 - 40 minutes from the strip).More

Cute place. Clean. We ate here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. We enjoyed breakfast a lot. Dinner was less impressive but still ok. We were looking forward to going for breakfast on our second day in Boulder City but unfortunately they were...closed due to a movie shoot. My husband especially liked the rhubarb pie.More

After hiking the Railroad Tunnel trail out to Hoover Dam, where we'd had a picnic lunch, we'd asked a cashier in the gift shop a good place in Boulder City to go for pie. She suggested the Southwest Diner. OMG! The best coconut cream pie...EVER! So rich and creamy, like it'd been made with heavy cream, rather than Cool Whip, like other places! The coffee was excellent, as well. Will stop in again for lunch or dinner, for sure.More

Food was okay but WAY overpriced. Two fish tacos were $16.95 and Rueben and hamburger were greasy and over prices too. 4 of us had lunch, one of us just had two eggs and a toast. Only one tea and the rest water. Our bill...was over $80. Dang! Won’t be back, took forever to get our food and there were many tables open. Server was nice but hey, that was NOT worth it.More
