I lived in Omaha for 17 years and moved and have been gone for 10 years and have never quit craving Jim's Rib Haven Barbeque. No it is not a pretty place , it is small and in the middle of North Omaha. When you do go just be prepared to wait 20 to 30 mins, but is well worth... More

One thing I am extremely picky about is ribs. You know, the meat must be done just right, smoked well and that is all worthless unless the sauce is unique so that it embellishes the natural flavor of the ribs. So when that urge for ribs arises, I call Jim's Rib Haven. A couple other places may be okay, but... More

I ordered a slab of spar ribs and a slab of rib tips. Both were cooked at to high a temp and for to short a time. Fatty and tough, with no smoke flavor or even a hint of smoke ring. It took 6 hours in the crockpot on high temp to render the fat down and make the slabs... More

Spoiled by the great BBQ of Kansas City, e.g. Oklahoma Joe's, Fiorella's Jack Stack and Arthur Bryant's, I am often disappointed by what passes for BBQ in the Omaha/Lincoln area. Last night we tried Jim's for the first time and all we can say is WOW! The beef ribs were wonderful, big, meaty, tender and a great flavor; no sauce... More

The boney box is a selection of end pieces and scraps of all the offerings--beef,pork ribs, links, brisket. Best French fries on the planet! Peach cobbler is a dream come true. The medium sauce is plenty spicy, can't imagine the hot! We drive 60 miles regularly just eat at Jim's!

I ordered the sliced beef (sandwich) combo. At $9.99 it was a little pricey for what you get. First of all, they use the wrong kind of bun for a BBQ sandwich. They put WAY too much sauce on the sandwich. Combine too much sauce with a thin, light bun and the sandwich was heavy and very soggy. The fries... More

Jim's ribs are great. There really isn't a dining room, just some stools along a wall. Most people use the drive through.

I was stopping through Omaha on a road trip and decided I wanted some BBQ. I saw the reviews fro Jim's and decided to give it a shot. I agree it is a hole in the wall which doesn't mean much of anything, some of the best food I have ever eaten were at dives (-: I had ribs, sides... More

Service and atmosphere lacking...but the ribs and cobbler were amazing. It's the kind of hole-in-the-wall place where you're ready to head right back out the door until your first bite.
