Friendly staff, yummy food (sandwiches, skyr--of course!, and soups), bottomless coffee. What more could you ask for?

We just left Kaffi Bryggjan. We went there for our first meal in Iceland. They had a lobster soup lunch for $20 per person. They told us the soup was great so me, my wife, and 3 kids all got it. It was only broth....More

Grindavik is a small fishing town, totally dead on a Sunday, not a person on the streets. That’s because they were all in this place. Nice self-service lobster soup, I guess we came late and most of the flesh pieces of lobster had been fished...More

Stumbled into the place on the waterfront. Get there before the buses do. Has lobster soup and you can have seconds. You dip it yourself and can "fish" for the lobster, which is really langoustines (same everywhere).

The best lobster soup of my life. Nothing else to say. Traveling in Iceland and missing this soup is a mortal sin. The place is simple and magnificent for this. The soup has a 1 free refill. Cakes are also delicious. This place should be...More

I'm not even sure how we found this place. It is right on the water but it is somewhat off the beaten path. We had been told the soup was great here. It was a chilly and wet day, so we thought soup would hit...More

They advertise their lobster soup, but we were pleasantly surprised by a broad selection of cakes. Tip: pick the carrot cake! Free (regular) coffee refills. It’s located near the water with nice seating inside and outside. The interior design is inspired by the local fishery...More

I would not suggest a walk, especially not during bad weather, the area is pretty exposed. As well, as per fellow reviewers, this is not a stoll - it is a walk.

I agree. Probably safest to go near lunch hour. There are several other cafes in the area that serve breakfast.
