Enjoyed dinner here after a pizza night. Unfortunately got there late so first choices sold out. Also local art in same building.

We had an early dinner here and it was lovely. It's a casual place with a little pottery shop that I enjoyed browsing while waiting for my meal.

We stopped in here after a particular dreary and tiring day. The young woman (rose? tattoo on chest) was super pleasant and warm. She may remember us as the people who got the whole dining area to try saying "gull". That was a laugh! The food was perfect - we didn't have anything crazy, lamb stew and a burger. The... More

I thought the lady was a bit abrupt when she asked me if I wanted to see the menu "again". Actually she turned out to be quite the opposite as she explained that she's just turned 30 and thinks she has started her menopause early (it was so funny!!). The salmon with salad on flatbread was really quite nice (my... More

We had a nice dinner with my wife. I had the local lamb soup (I wanted to try this typical dish) and a greek salad. My wife had a vegetables pie. The soup was really tasty (It tastes lamb all of it). It was cooked for many hours with spices and fresh herbs. The pie was crispy and tasty too.... More

I really recommend this restaurant. It is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for so I highly recommend this restaurant.

Small quaint cafe. Like going to someone's house. Little gallery inside was fun to explore. The 1970's US rock music was a fun touch. Right on the Main Street - easy to,find. Service was quite slow but the food was very good. The vegetable pie was delicious and different from the usual fare in Iceland. Vegetable panini also, very good. Interesting... More

Stopped by for lunch as we were heading back towards Reykjavik. Busy, but quick service. Elsa was an excellent host and server. Chicken panini and vegetable paninis were fantastic. Blueberry cheesecake was delicious as well. Reasonably priced, pretty quick service - and right off the main 1 road. Well worth the visit.

Thank Steve M

Eldstó Art Café/Bistró is an artistic café where all tableware is handmade on the premises by the owners G.Helga and THór (Thor Sveinsson), potter. The coffee we serve is made of quality coffee beans and our cakes, bread and soups are homemade as well as our various small dishes. Icelandic lamb and fresh fish is on the menu and lettuce grown in the surrounding countryside. Having a delicious breakfast in our lovely café on your way south is an excellent idea. We have a special menu for groups.
