There was 12 of us and we wanted a good but pretty quick lunch, and our server Sal took great care of us. Excellent seafood choices, from the tacos to the lobster rolls all the group were impressed. Nice casual atmosphere.

We ate here because my sister from out of town loves to have lobster when she visits us the New England. She ordered the wok lobster with scallion and ginger that was absolutely superb (she shared some of it with me. If she did not I would have stolen it!!) They were nine of us and we ordered lots of... I've been here plenty of times and always thought the food and service were decent, sometimes great. But this visit was pretty bad. Our server answered my questions with a shrug, we only saw her once after she took our order, and my food was bad. The Caesar Salad was horrible, just a bunch of wet lettuce with cheese and... More

I had apprehensions trying it cause there were better rates seafood restaurants. As the appetizers came, I knew the place had great potential. The fried clams were good. Great to see that they offered many ways of cooking lobster. We tried the pan seared lobster with cognac sauce and wood fire grilled lobster. The lobsters were fresh, big and juicy.... More

Wonderful seafood (loved the swordfish skewer)---fresh and good portion. Prices for lunch were great. It's dimly lit and doesn't have a great deal of atmosphere, aside from thinking you're on a boat. Don't let that bother you. Enjoy the delicious food. The three of us thought it was well worth it.

Good food, great easy parking for the location. Outside looks a bit sketchy but inside is very nice.

My wife and I have been here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. We haven't been recently so we stopped by over Labor Day weekend for some tasty seafood. My wife had the Black Sea Bass special and loved it. I had 12 raw oysters and an excellent lobster roll. Good cold beers on draft and... More

My wife and I both love this place. The seafood is very fresh and haven't had anything yet that wasn't delicious. We typically get appetizers.... steamers, cherrystones, calamari......all very delicious and very tasty. My wife usually gets the crab legs while I get the lobster. Everything we get is wonderful. Also clam chowder is very yummy. Great place to go... More

Description
Boston’s Best Seafood Restaurant… Summer Shack was opened in May 2000 by chef Jasper White on the outskirts of Cambridge in a spot once occupied by an infamous Polynesian Restaurant; it was a shock to many customers from the former Jasper’s Restaurant, a fine dining establishment that opened on Boston’s Waterfront in 1983. White tablecloths, soft music, elegant dinnerware and pristine food presentations: gone! Turn up the music. Haul out the picnic tables. Bring on the fun. At Summer Shack, rustic dishes like steamed lobsters and crabs, fish cakes, clambakes, fried chicken and burgers are served alongside modern preparations influenced by world cuisines, grilled local seafood and the best raw bar in town. Our seafood is supplied by Georges Bank, wholesale seafood company that we are partners in.
