This popular restaurant/bar in Richmond's historic Fan District is known for their Cajun/creole menu. I've ordered their fried oysters before and thought they were quite good. However, this week we visited and I ordered the Oyster Trio as an appetizer and what a disappointment. I couldn't tell the Bienville from the Rockefeller. One had a way too creamy glop of... More

Lady Nawlins is a typical bar with chalk art on the ceiling and small booths. The reason I will be going back is because they have great beers on tap and amazing food inspired by New Orleans! Bacon wrapped plantains, oysters Rockefeller, shrimp and grits...no matter what we ordered, it was amazing!

We loved the food here! It seems to be a popular watering hole in an area of many places. We were able to still get a glass of wine just under the happy hour price and it was a nice size pour. They brought out some crackers and spicy cheese which was not too spicy. We ordered the jambalya Supreme... More

Our son attends college at VCU and we were searching for good places. This will be top on our list! We took 3 college boys, and we all loved the food, and we loved the atmosphere. The gator bites are delicious, and the spicy shrimp! And we all loved our entrees, blackened catfish - delicious, jumbalaya - delicious. Great music... More

We took two visiting internationals to give them a taste of New Orleans food. We started with the oyster trio and the gator bites. Everyone liked the gator bites. The oysters were good but not everyone likes oysters even if they are cooked. To give added variety we ordered three entrees: 1. TASTE OF NAWLINS that has a cup of... More

No better way to start a week with Cajun inspired breakfast dishes and 2 for $6 sangria. It's worth a visit to try the N'awlins testament paid by the creativity in the kitchen.

I went here to celebrate being done with my finals. I was in the mood for Cajun, and since this is the only Cajun resturaunt in town we went. As usual this place had a long wait, and their crowd is rather rowdy. Why the 4 stars then? Well with resturaunts it all comes down to food, and they do... More

The food here is good, and the service was friendly and effecient. The place is a little rundown however, and has more of a bar atmosphere than restaurant.

Stopped here after a visit to InLight Richmond. What a treat this little place is! We had jambalaya and shrimp and grits. They were just like in NO! Wonderful light gravy on the shrimp and grits, with just the right amount of sweet and spicy, and the jambalaya was filled with perfectly seasoned sausage, seafood, and chicken. The crackers and... After a trip south, we stopped in Richmond to show our kids Carrytown and found this wonderful bar/restaurant with real beignets and wonderful food--best food of our entire trip! Amazing meal in a cool little spot off the main drag. Wonderful friendly staff and one of the best meals of our summer! Drinks looked amazing too--but we were driving so... More
