The food is delicious and the service was excellent. The black bean nachos are amazing. The fried green tomatoes and crab cakes were delicious. This is a restaurant for all ages. We first visited in 2004 and we try to visit at least once a year. The service is really amazing and made the night a great experience. We look... More

Came here for dinner with a friend and my daughter (a student at VCU). Loved the atmosphere--especially the bathtub at the salad bar. We ordered a round of drinks and had to wait about 15 minutes for them, which I find a bit long. They were good, but nothing extraordinary. We ordered our meals, and then had another long wait... From its very start, Strawberry Street Cafe has been delighting locals, and visitors for years. So famous that it made it to a final Jeopardy question years ago. The bathtub of salad is so much fun! The food is wholesome, feel good deliciousness...made from local ingredients. The atmosphere beckons the artist within each of us! This is a MUST STOP... More

We enjoyed an excellent meal here after the Richmond Folk Festival. We arrived hungry, and were not disappointed by the varied offerings. We particularly enjoyed the seared tuna with velvety mashed potatoes. Vegetarian offerings were excellent, helped along by a generous salad bar.

This place has been around for more than 30 years here and there is a reason. Food is also good, great specials, and the must try infamous bathtub salad bar. My favorite spot for a reasonably priced brunch too.

I was Lucky to be taken her by a client during a business trip. I had a great meatloaf, however I have been told that the Chicken pot pie is fantastic too. I will try this next time. The menu was a nice mix of items, something for everybody. They do a great lunch salad bar. We had a great... More

Ten of us went to Strawberry Street Cafe for Sunday brunch and the consensus around the table was the food was high quality and well prepared with everyone sharing bites with each other of their well like meal. Everyone with omelets and other egg preparation 'ooh'ed and aah'ed' over their meal. The crab cake was generous, fresh and very tasty... More

We went to the Saturday morning brunch buffet and it was very good. Lots of options, very tasty, fresh, homemade. Would definitely go again.

I had been here years ago, and it was great. But my husband and I recently had brunch here on a weekend, and both of us found the food to range from unremarkable to poor. Both of us opted for the "famous" buffet. Even though they had just opened, the biscuit gravy was cold, the donuts were stale and hard,... More

As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by a huge bath tub with salad bar ingredients. After being seated in a booth which wasn't very uncomfortable (just wooden seat and back) we surveyed the salad bar. We decided against it as it didn't look very clean. The glass sneeze protector was positioned at a height that... More

Description
Here at Strawberry Street Cafe, we have been providing great food and service in an inviting, casual atmosphere since 1976. Located in the Historic Fan District, we are only about a ten minute drive from the Landmark Theatre and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. What we are best known for is our famous salad bar, which is actually situated in an old-fashioned bathtub and filled with fresh vegetables, fruits, prepared salads and homemade soups. The menu includes such specialties as Maryland Crabcakes, Pasta Jambalaya, Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, and Spinach Lasagna.
