OK, this is a hipster college joint. Not fancy by any means. Dark and cramped atmosphere, but you can envision the kids packed in there at night drinking their favorite boutique ale. We ate lunch there and I had a bean burger that had a hummus topping along with lettuce and tomato. The sweet potato fries were pretty thin and... More

Very nice vegan options. Delicious lunch. Comfortable outdoor seating. Parking nearby. The tofu Reuben was especially good.

if this is the "to go" vegetarian restaurant in richmond - IT WENT .... poor service (i know it's college servers - but 50% screwed up orders is not a passing grade) ... i was more impressed with daily kitchen for my vegetarian needs ....

We love to drop in to Ipanema Cafe whenever we're in the Fan district. This place is right across the street from the Grace Street Theater and only a block from the Siegel Center so it's a great choice for VCU events. The food is delicious and nutritious, mostly vegetarian with the occasional fish entree. The staff is very friendly... More

Yes, this is our new go-to place for out-of-the-way dinner. The atmosphere is college, and very romantic with a lively energy. But the food is why everyone comes to Ipanema .... The ingredients are local and organic and everything is made from scratch. The sandwiches are known as some of the best in the city but for dinner the entrees... More

Interesting little bar along Grace St. in the university district. They have a nice selection of foods. We were there for a light lunch so we shared a nacho dish with beans and rice. Food and service was very good.

Ipanema is fantastic - creative, delicious vegetarian dishes. Favorites include tofu sandwich, jackfruit BBQ, arroz con soyo. It's all good! Cool, casual, cozy English basement setting.

Turning out reliably good veg fare, vegan options. Service can be iffy, especially if crowded. Not rude, just slow or lost orders. I just try not to go at peak times if I'm in a hurry.

The food here was amazing. I had the Paella, but there were several things on the menu I wished I could have tried. Will gladly return to try more of the menu.

For the originality of the dishes, for the freshness and flavour of the food, this was my favourite restaurant in Richmond. The service was genuinely friendly. The place itself is windowless (it feels like a cellar) and it has a hippy, downbeat, studenty vibe that made it special. I wouldn't take my granny here for her birthday, but I'll come... More
