We had outstanding service and wonderful food- get the guavatini- delicious cocktail. Food was scrumptious- this is a wonderful ethnic gem in a small NE Town.

Everything about the dining experience was perfect! The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. Owner/Chef David is truly a master of his craft. The presentation of the scallops is off the chart! individually presented on a long rectangle plate with each accompaniment stacked to perfection. The coconut curry sauce is to die for! Do yourself a favor and experience the greatness... More

I visited Melaza Bistro recently while spending a weekend in Woodstock, VT. We found it interesting that a Tapas restaurant was in Woodstock and figured that it would be very good considering that it is 1) unique and 2) that there are plenty of other restaurant options available. They advertise that they have 20 different rums, and we like rum... More

I'm truly disappointed to hear you thought our food; atmosphere and service didn't meet your high expectations. Our kitchen staff and servers are dedicated to offering our guests knowledgeable and helpful service. I personally apologize for the wrong information about our Rums selections, I did have 20 different rums in stock, then I decided to keep in stock the best... More

We arrived on the early side of dinner. We sat in the bar and began with a light beer and mango margarita. The bar tables were relaxed and quiet enough for us to chat. The staff was attentive. The menu looked fabulous and enticing. We could not choose, so we began with beef empanadas. They were crispy and hot. The... More

I was really looking forward to eating here, but I think the service killed it! Our waitress did not seem experienced or accommodating. One thing that sticks out in our minds was when we order 3 orders of mango sorbet at approximately $6 each and the serving sizes were not equal by far and when we questioned her, her response... Very different for this area of Vermont, this Caribbean restaurant is clearly quite popular. Our family shared multiple tapas and a couple of entrees for dinner and all was very much enjoyed. The service was efficient and friendly, and the drinks very fun. We would highly recommend!

This restaurant is very near the main square of Woodstock, but away from the hordes of walkers in and around the square. You'll receive a lot of attention, but it won't be intrusive. Melaza is just a good place to go!

Both our meals were very good, lots of flavor, the portions were a perfect size. Service was slow but it was Valentines day and they were really busy. We started with the chicken chili nachos that were fantastic. I had the skirt steak and my husband had the pork shank.

This was one of the best meals we've ever had. Innovative and fresh! Nice alternative for the area. Perfectly located in town, central to several hotels/inns. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation!
