Our table had been reserved by the host at our B and B; she had mentioned that it was my birthday so when we went in I was greeted with 'Happy Birthday'- nice touch! The meal was good. There was a prix fixe menu and a bistro menu, but one was free to choose dishes from anywhere on the menu!... More

This was a great find on a cold night! The atmosphere is cozy and private, ....service is excellent. We enjoyed delicious sole, .. wonderful sauces. The menu offers variety from lighter fare to gourmet entrees. We'd definitely return.

hidden in an alley just off main street in Woodstock is this quaint restaurant...cozy and warm ambiance...nice variety to the menu...and excellent service...reasonably priced and tasty...however when the crowd gets loud it can be a little overwhelming(I don't like to feel I have to shout to be heard, especially to my wife sitting across from me)...casual atmosphere with what I... Our group of six went on a leaf tour through three states and dined in five different cities for dinner. This was our favorite by far. The food was outstanding and our server had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. She got our group! Smoked salmon appetizer and salads all good. Three of us order the lamb... More

We dined at the Prince and Pauper twice during our five day stay in the Woodstock area. The food is traditional and of reliable quality. Service is friendly and accommodating. In this area, we found the Prince and Pauper to be one of the best restaurants. Ron H.

The menu is presented as prix fixe but one can still order a al carte. My husband and I split and appetizer, then each got salads and entrees. Charged one prix fixe and a la carte for the rest. Their signature dish, lamb with a puff pastry was excellent and well worth it. Duck serving was huge. Went back the... More

Single female traveling alone. Foodie. The staff was warm and welcoming. Clemens, the bar tender was terrific. Smoked salmon was the best! Great wine list. Loved it!

Went here with another couple who were of the same opinion. Atmosphere was a bit pretentious, which may be due to US expectations for "fine dining". Menu selection was fine but expensive for what you got, small portions and the tuna fish special was particularly poor on both counts as well as over cooked. Bore no resemblance to real French...
