Excellent food and service as always. Every year I bring my writing retreat clients here for the original menu, great terrace and hospitality of Maite and Ivan. We love the Wok style rice served in a tile. The selection of local wines and craft beers...is excellent as is the locally sourced produce and vegetarian options available. Don't leave without trying a dessert!More
We can only confirm what others have written about La Posada El Parral - so a big thank you to previous reviewers and , of course, to the restaurant itself. Well worth the drive from Ronda. Great food on a lovey terrace with excellent service...- and easy parking!More
This was the ideal stop to refuel up in the mountains. Home-cooked food, with a modern twist, excellent staff and a welcoming, happy atmosphere. Really friendly to people with allergies. And we were definitely full at the end!
This was our favorite restaurant on our trip to the Sierra de Grazalema mountains. Don't miss dinner here. Ivan, who runs the inn with his wife Maite, is a amazing cook and we had such a good meal the first night we went back for...more the second night. It is amazing what he can do in their small kitchen. The cheese plate was outstanding with six different local cheeses. The warmed spinach salad (with Iberian ham and pesto) was to die for and the wild pig cheeks were delicious (the menu says they are served with "french fries", but this description doesn't do justice to the crispy potato base). The desserts are all homemade and the Portuguese-style creamy custard is outstanding. Did I mention the homemade marmalade? They served us a variety of great wines, all locally sourced, many organic (the Holgado was my favorite). It was chilly the first night, so they built a fire for us in the ample fireplace.More
We were also staying in El Parral so after a long days hike decided to just go downstairs and eat here, it turned out to be one of our better ideas that week as we had a very pleasant evening.
Admittedly it was a sunday...night at the start of October and the next town has its local festival on so It was a tad quiet and lacking in atmosphere but the restaurant can hardly be blamed for this.
So after taking our seats we were presented with the menu and wine list. both were comprehensive without being OTT unlike some others we had seen.
We were helped in our choices by our hosts and settled down with our wine. We were sitting quite close to the kitchen and the smells reminded us that it had been a long time since lunch. The food when it arrived was just simply wonderful. It has been a long time since I have tasted such fresh well cooked and presented food, even as I type this several weeks later I can still remember the taste and aroma of the meatballs.
We finished off with an excellent brandy and retired to bed well fed and happy.More
After spending a week in La Sierra de Grazalema and eating lots of delicious food in many of the restaurants, i can safely say that El Parral was my favourite! So much so that we went there twice, and i look forward to returning again...in the future.
Located in the quiet town of Benaocaz, El Parral offers an exciting and innovative menu which succeds in providing an excellent balance of local dishes and produce cooked in both traditional and experimental ways. The combination of flavours was delicious, and service by Maite was brilliant. It is lovely to see the passion she has. I particularly enjoyed the goats cheese salad with the sesame vinagrette, the brown rice wok with secreto iberico, and the masarpone dessert. Yum!More
Lovely restaurant with helpful staff. Food was excellent, service was quick and efficient. My wife's duck was particularly nice although slightly too rare for her liking. My shish kebab was ok, although the menu said it was hot (spicy) it wasn't.
The deserts were delicious...but the Nutella desert was just a bit too much and very rich.
Look forward to visiting this restaurant again soon.More
